Description

Throughout the entire world of One Piece, the Giants are renowned as the strongest race. In fact, it was explained that, centuries before the start of the story and after the close of the Void Century, it was the Giants of Elbaf who dominated the New World. They were so powerful that no pirates from before the time of Rocks are known about, since they were likely crushed by the Giants before they even got to a certain level.

It has been stated that there are many Giants throughout the world, though the ones from Elbaf are the most notorious. The ruling line of Elbaf are the descendants of the mysterious Ancient Giants, who were present many centuries before One Piece even began. Though we don’t know much about them, let’s break down the four strongest Ancient Giant/Ancient Giant descendants that we know of to see who was the greatest of them all.

Little Ors Jr. Was A Member Of Whitebeard’s Fleet And A Friend Of Ace

A Massive Giant

First Appearance

One Piece, Chapter 554, “Admiral Akainu”

Story Arc

Marineford

  • Little Oars Jr. was a descendant of Oars.

One of the biggest Giants in the entire series, Little Oars Jr. was the captain of the Little Pirates; members of Whitebeard’s Grand Fleet who were closely affiliated with the Emperor. He made his debut in the Marineford arc in an attempt to save his friend Ace from being executed, where he eventually met his supposed end at the hands of the Warlords at the time. However, he later awoke, and his current fate is left unclear.

Little Oars Jr. is a descendant of arguably the most physically powerful character in the entire series, the infamous Ancient Giant named Oars, after whom he gets his name. Nothing more is known about their exact relationship, but their appearances are quite similar with their massive horns and gargantuan size, which dwarfs any other Giants in the series.

Oars Is Perhaps The Most Infamous Ancient Giant In The Entire Series

The Legendary Continent Puller

First Appearance

One Piece, Chapter 456, “Demon From The Land Of Ice”

Story Arc

Thriller Bark

  • Oars is the largest Giant in One Piece.

In One Piece, there are very few figures from history who are remembered with such fear as the Ancient Giant Oars. Born 500 years before the start of the story, Oars was known as the ‘Continent Puller’ due to his incredible size and monstrous strength, implying that he was able to pull entire continents and islands across the seas. It was revealed that, in his prime, he had many islands under his control.

I could not believe that something so fearsome wreaked havoc in the seas 500 years ago!

Oars eventually met his end on a mysterious island known only as the Land of Ice, where Chopper exclaimed that he likely died of frostbite and hypothermia. However, due to him being encased in ice, his body was largely preserved, leading to Gecko Moria taking it and using it for his plans in the Thriller Bark arc. Though powerful, the reincarnated Oars was eventually defeated by Nightmare Luffy.

Loki Is Currently The Strongest Giant In The Modern Setting Of One Piece

The Destroyer Sun God

First Appearance

One Piece, Chapter 1130, “The Accursed Prince”

Story Arc

Elbaf

  • Loki is the Prince of Elbaf.

Though not an Ancient Giant directly, like Oars and Little Oars Jr., Loki is a descendant of this race, which is why he is the Prince of Elbaf. Though he is not as large as the other two, Loki’s strength is said to be legendary, as he was described to have wreaked havoc across the seas for many years until Shanks eventually defeated him and sent him back to his homeland.

I am the Sun God who will bring about the end of the world!

The real reason for Loki’s unbridled power is the mysterious Devil Fruit that he has eaten. At the current moment, nothing is known about this fruit, only that it is described as Elbaf’s legendary treasure that allows the user to turn into the mythical Sun God Nika. While fans can only wait to see the true strength of this ability, it’s clear that having it allows Loki to be one of the series’ most powerful figures.

Harald Is One Of The Strongest Characters In The History Of One Piece

The Greatest King of Elbaf

First Appearance

One Piece, Chapter 1136, “The Land That Awaits The Sun”

Story Arc

Elbaf

  • Harald’s Haki is some of the strongest in history.

Just like his son Loki, Harald is also a descendant of Ancient Giants, but not one of them directly. Despite this, he is undoubtedly one of the strongest figures in the history of the One Piece world, as the single panel of his first meeting with Rocks D. Xebec not only confirmed that he had Advanced Conqueror’s Haki, but that his mastery over this ability was on the level of Rocks himself, who is portrayed as the strongest character of the old era.

Harald is said to be Elbaf’s strongest king.

This should come as no shock, since Harald had always been stated to be the strongest warrior on Elbaf. Although he always sought out peace with his neighbors and detested Elbaf’s legacy as a warring nation, his strength has been shown to be on the level of the Pirate King, Rocks, Whitebeard, and Garp in their primes, all of whom are widely regarded as the strongest characters in all of One Piece.

One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
