Similar to other soulslike games in the genre, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers offers players multiple endings to the character’s story. These endings heavily depend on the choices players make and can conclude the story in either a good or bad way.
The game also features a Secret ending as well as a True ending, the latter of which requires completing multiple NPC questlines and facing some of the most difficult secret bosses in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. This guide covers all the endings and the dialogue options you need to watch for during your playthrough.
How to Get the Successor of the Bo Ending
The Early Secret Ending
The secret ending for the game is not difficult to work towards, but the bosses can certainly be a challenge for some players. For this ending, you must play through the game normally while interacting with the Red-Clad Lady on three different occasions before the point of no return. The first time you’ll meet her is near the scaffolding area below the Buddha Cliffs Shrine, after your tutorial fight with Bai Kru. After talking to her, progress through the region until you reach Doomwillow Beach, where you’ll find her standing next to a pulsating tree after you knock down the Corpse Tree.
After your two interactions with her, continue with the game until you reach Mt. Zhenwu and make your way to the Avian Dwelling Shrine, which can be accessed by going down the ladder next to the bridge inside the Refugee Camp. The Red-Clad Lady will be standing next to the Avian Dwelling Shrine—select the “Agree” dialogue.
After the point of no return occurs and you find yourself in the fourth region of the game, before interacting with the Shrine, you will meet the Storyteller again, and he will request that you deal with Bo Magus. Here, you must select the “Refuse to Help” option, to which the game will give you one more chance to reconsider—but you have to select “Refuse” again. This locks you into the Successor of the Bo ending, and you will now have to defeat Bo Magus, who is accessible through the Tang Emperor Palace pathway. After the boss fight is finished, watch the final cutscene unravel, and your playthrough will finish.
It is important to note that this is the only ending in the game that skips the fifth region, Bo Capital, along with the rest of the boss fights and questlines there.
How to Get the Jarful of Medicine Ending
The Bad Ending
The Jarful of Medicine is the least complex ending out of the bunch, as there is only one major dialogue choice to think about. After progressing through the fourth region of the game, Worship’s Rise in Ruins, you’ll find yourself in the Reverant Temple, where you must go upstairs and make your way toward the path leading to the Burning Cavern. Along the path, you’ll come across Xuanyangzi, who is sitting next to a tree and the Shrine. Talk to him, and you’ll be given two dialogue options. Selecting the “Hand over the Jade Feather Chisel” option will lock you into this ending.
After this interaction, continue playing the game until you reach the fifth and final region. From the Shrine, turn around and head down the spinal path that leads to an elevator. Once you go down, you’ll enter a large area with a white glowing tree—this is where you must obtain the two halves of the Soulbird Shards. Upon using the shards, a bridge will form, leading to the final boss arena. Defeat the final boss and interact with the gate to trigger the final cutscene.
How to Get Bound by Fate’s Threads Ending
The Good Ending
The Bound by Fate’s Threads ending is very similar to the bad ending. However, when talking to Xuanyangzi near the Burning Cavern Shrine, you need to select the “Remain Silent” option. After that, progress through the same path, and you can interact with the gate after the final boss fight for the good ending to take place.
How to Get the Dream’s Sweet Deceit Ending
The True Ending
The Dream’s Sweet Deceit is the most complex ending in the game, mainly because of how many NPC questlines are tied to it, and players must ideally not miss any interactions if they want to achieve it. A good way to check if there are possible encounters available is by going to the Fast Travel menu and seeing if you can spot any gray NPC icons next to a shrine. Seeing these means you should talk to the NPC with the grayed-out portrait. If you have a habit of checking the travel menu after every boss, achieving this ending won’t be too complicated.
The main NPCs tied to the True Ending are Fang Yao, who starts appearing in the last area of Cloudspire; He Youzai, who is available right after the tutorial fight; and the White-Robed Elder, found inside the first floor of Shu Sanctum. Throughout the game, there will be multiple interactions with these NPCs, and in some of them, they might ask for your help, to which your response should always be to Agree.
After completing all the necessary NPC interactions up to the Reverant Temple in the fourth region, head left from the Shrine. Here, you must follow these steps for the true ending:
Talk to Fang Yao to obtain the Ring of Samsara – Cause.
Talk to He Youzai to obtain the Ring of Samsara – Effect.
With both rings in your possession, head up to Xuanyangzi and select the “Remain Silent” option.
Do not consume either of the rings for Red Mercury under any circumstances.
Proceed to the final region of the game.
After interacting with the Shrine, travel to the Tomb region in Mt. Zhenwu. There, you’ll have your last interaction with the White-Robed Elder.
After this, go to the Depths of the Capital Shrine in Bo Capital. Here, you’ll find the third riddle door—interact with it and select “The wheel turns anew”.
This will teleport you to the Shrine Dwelling area. Defeat the boss Demon of Obsession, in the area up ahead.
After the fight, proceed forward and interact with the altar at the end to reform the Causality Key.
With the key in hand, go to the final boss arena and defeat the final boss. Interact with the gate afterward to trigger the true ending of the game.
For players trying to go for all endings in one playthrough, they will need to complete all the major NPC questlines and save their data after reaching the fourth region and before talking to the Storyteller there. This will ensure that players don’t need to play through the game four different times to achieve all the trophies tied to the endings.
It’s important to note that if you have the Ring of Samsara on you, you can still acquire both the good and true endings by saving the data right after the final boss—but be sure not to interact with the gate before the save is done. If you want the true ending, make sure the Causality Key is in your inventory when you interact with the gate, and consume the key if you want the good ending.
