All Fadefields Vault Symbol Locations
Description
Kairos is full of gear to loot, bad guys to shoot, and since Borderlands 4 is an open world game, there are also plenty of collectibles to find (even more so than before). Among these collectibles are Vault Symbols, which can be found in many unexpected places.
Finding and interacting with Vault Symbols gives players some SDU Tokens in Borderlands 4, so if you want to get your ammo and inventory capacities maxed out, you should try to get as many of these symbols as possible. This guide covers all the Vault Symbols in the Fadefields area, including the ones that are tricky to find with just a map.
All Coastal Bonescape Vault Symbols in Borderlands 4
The Coastal Bonescape is the true starting area of the game, and it has three Vault Symbols hidden in it. Two of them are almost right next to each other, while the other is a fair distance away.
Vault Symbol 1
The first Vault Symbol is in Plungeford, the same area where the Borderlands 4 Meat is Murder quest ends. You can find the symbol inside the tall house in the image above. Make your way inside through the cracks and holes in the walls, and look for the symbol at the upper floor.
Vault Symbol 2
The second Vault Symbol is right outside Plungeford, near the opening that leads to the Howl. There’s a rocky outcrop by the Plungeford exit. Refer you your map for the Vault Symbol’s location. It should be fairly easy to spot.
Vault Symbol 3
The third Coastal Bonescape Vault Symbol is all the way to the east, by the roof of a house on a cliff near the Waterstop POI. Fight off the Kratches, then climb the house to find the Vault Symbol at the top, facing the cliff.
The Howl Vault Symbol in Borderlands 4
There’s only one Vault Symbol in the Howl, and it’s right underneath the Outbounders’ base in the Launchpad. Enter the hidden base from the bridge entrance, then look for the ledge on the right just before the set of stairs and the door that leads further down to the base. Follow the path, then tag the symbol on the wall.
Hungering Plain Vault Symbols in Borderlands 4
There are two Vault Symbols in this sub-region, and while they’re both relatively easy to find, one of them is inside a heavily-populated Order base.
Vault Symbol 1
The first symbol is inside a ruined house near the wall dividing the Fadefields and the Timekeeper’s Dominion City. Just head to the symbol’s map marker, then double jump to the second floor.
Vault Symbol 2
The second Hungering Plains Vault Symbol is inside Horace’s Oversight, an Order base that players will have to fight through during the Borderlands 4 campaign. Blast your way through the compound until you see a doorway with two triangular lights above it. Enter that room, then pull the vent cover on the wall opposite the entryway. Go through it, then tag the Vault Symbol inside.
Idolator’s Noose Vault Symbols in Borderlands 4
Technically, there are three Vault Symbols in Idolator’s Noose despite the map showing only two. That’s because one is inside Fortress Indomita, the dungeon containing the Indomitus Sol boss fight.
Vault Symbol 1
The first Idolator’s Noose symbol is found far west of Fortress Indomita. Consult the map above, then look for yet another tall house. Enter it, then make your way to the attic to find the symbol.
Vault Symbol 2
Once again, this symbol can be found in the attic of another tall house. This time, it’s in a village south of the Deep Seven Silo. Surprisingly, the people here are normal, so you won’t need to blow anyone up. You can reach the Vault Symbol by climbing up the roof and entering through the big window.
Vault Symbol 3
If you’ve already beaten Indomitus Sol, you won’t have to fight your way through Fortress Indomita’s outer compound anymore. You can fast travel directly to its interior through the map.
To reach the Vault Symbol here, fight your way to the hangar area (the one with the big chasm in the middle) then look for a vent cover near a checkpoint. Pull the cover off, hop through the vent, then tag the Vault Symbol inside the control room.
Dissected Plateau Vault Symbols in Borderlands 4
There are only two symbols here, but much like the ones in Idolator’s Noose, one of the symbols here is inside an Order base. Thankfully, you can enter that area at any time, provided you’ve finished the main story quest linked to it.
Vault Symbol 1
The first Dissected Plateau Vault Symbol is right above Zadra’s Backup Plan. Teleport there, then take the cargo elevator to the surface. Once you’re topside, make your way to the top of the hill with ship wreckage. The Vault Symbol is etched onto one of the broken-off hulls near a tree. This symbol is also near the Fadefields Vault itself.
Vault Symbol 2
The second symbol is in the Order base where you fight the Oppressor boss. Go to the base, and enter it through one of the wide side entrances. When you reach the courtyard/processing area, you’ll need to cover yourself in Wildhorn guts in order to progress. Follow the tracks until you reach a roofed checkpoint — there’s a level that you can pull there to make Wildhorn guts fall on you.
While coverd in guts, follow the track to the end until you see a scanner. Wait for it to scan you, then you will get sucked into the facility’s interior. Jump off before you hit the crusher inside, then head west. You’ll find a metal grate wall that you can climb. Go up there, then follow the path until you reach the end of the vent. Drop from the vent, and you’ll see a room to your right behind a red mirror. The Vault Symbol should be right there.
