All Midterm and Final Exams Answers in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Description
Attending classes in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is only half of what you can do at Naranja (Scarlet)/Uva (Violet) Academy. As you sit in on lectures, you’ll eventually unlock the subject’s respective midterms and finals. However, you may notice that not every class is available when your character starts their Treasure Hunt. You’ll need to win the Gym Badges to unlock more lectures. To pass the midterms, you’ll need to answer 3 questions correctly. To pass the finals, you’ll need to answer 4 questions correctly. You’ll receive x5 Exp. Candy S for passing a midterm, and x5 Exp. Candy M for passing a final. While classes and tests may seem tedious, you’ll want to complete them to unlock more of Scarlet/Violet‘s in-game features and rewards.
Updated on July 14, 2025 by Renri Seong: Midterms and finals are part of the Naranja/Uva Academy in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, and if you want to reap the best rewards, you’ll want to score high. Doing so unlocks postgame content exclusive to the Teal Mask/Indigo Disk expansion pack. Students will be expected to answer classroom questions that will appear on the exams. However, some players may be wondering if you need to get every classroom answer correct. The following guide has been updated to include more info regarding the midterms/finals portion of Naranja/Uva Academy as well as a section on the Team Star Tutor event.

Do You Have to Answer Lecture Questions Correctly?
How Do Lectures Influence Exams
There are a total of 9 lectures per subject. You’ll sit through 3 of them before taking the midterm, then 6 of them before taking the final. For each lecture, the respective professor will ask your character a question related to the topic of the day. You’re normally given three options, and if you’re a Pokemon veteran, you’l probably know most answers without needing to look them up.
First and foremost, the lecture answers do not matter. If you answer incorrectly, you’ll simply be corrected before the lecture continues. Likewise, answering correctly has similar results. However, you’ll recognize the same lecture question (or some variant) while taking the midterms or finals. It’s also not a bad idea to read what the professors are saying. Lectures provide in-game tips covering multiple topics, such as battle mechanics, shiny odds, and egg hatching.

Hassel is the Art teacher at Naranja/Uva Academy, but he’s also a member of the Elite Four. Fortunately or unfortunately, you won’t be battling him in the classroom. The Art classes in Scarlet/Violet talk about Terastallization and the Wonders of Paldea. It’s more of a trivia class than anything you’ll be using in battle or even in your playthrough. In that case, you may already know of this particular restaurant and where it’s located. Here are the answers to the Art Midterm:

Team Star Tutor Answers
What is a Team Star Tutor?
If you buy the expansion pack, you’ll gain access to more in-game content, including a new episode with Team Star. The “reformed” Team Star decide to return to school, and you’ll be recruited by Giacomo and Eri to help the other Team Star leaders brush up on their studies.
There are a few prerequisites to unlocking the Team Star Tutor event:
- Speak to Penny and check in on Team Star (unlocks after the Academy Ace Tournament). If the Team Star members are in their leader outfits, then you haven’t unlocked the Team Star Tutor event.
- Complete the Indigo Disk DLC.
- Complete all lectures and pass both the midterms and finals.
Once you’ve done this, you should find Giacomo and Eri in the new school uniforms standing in the left wing on the first floor of the academy. Speak to either one to start the event.
You’ll need to answer Atticus, Ortega, and Mela’s questions. Atticus and Ortega have one question whereas Mela has five. You don’t have to answer everything correctly, but it’s recommended you do so.
Here are the questions and answers to all the Team Star leaders:
Question |
Answer |
|
---|---|---|
Ortega |
See, the protagonist in this book is the mom in a Maushold family – her name’s Mama Maushold. We’re supposed to analyze why she calls Papa Maushold “terrible” in this passage. |
She must actually love him a lot. |
Atticus |
I feel I need not concern myself with numbers. They have naught to do with fashion, after all! |
No, you’ll need numbers. |
Mela |

The reward for ‘acing’ the Team Star Tutor event is a Gold Bottle Cap, which you can use to Hyper Train your Pokemon. If you miss a question, then you’ll get the Wise Glasses held item instead. Equipping a Wise Glasses item to your Pokemon raises the power of their special moves by 10% in battle. Not a bad reward, but you can buy Wise Glasses from Delibird Presents in Mesagoza. Thus, you’ll want to aim for the Gold Bottle Cap instead.
