Description

Fake Battlefield 6 advertisements claiming to be playtest invitations for the shooter’s upcoming Battle Royale game mode are appearing online, putting fans’ Steam accounts at risk of being compromised. Battlefield 6 has yet to officially release, but publisher EA is allowing a lucky selection of fans to continue playtesting the next entry in the series via Battlefield Labs. The latest round of closed testing appears to be for the game’s highly anticipated Warzone competitor, which many are eager to check out.

Battlefield 6 Gameplay Leak Reveals Weapon Feature Offering 'Huge Tactical Advantage'

Last month, EA kicked off multiple open beta weekends for Battlefield 6, finally allowing fans to go hands-on with the shooter following its reveal earlier in the year. While 2021’s Battlefield 2042 was somewhat of a disaster for EA, the studio appears to be back on track after a four-year absence, as Battlefield 6 is already shaping up to be a huge success. The next entry in the series will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 10, and if its massive open beta was anything to go by, it’s looking like a great time to be a Battlefield fan.

Fake Battlefield 6 Ads Appear On Reddit

Battlefield 6‘s Battle Royale mode is probably the shooter’s most anticipated game mode, which is likely why scammers are using that hype as a way to try to steal players’ Steam accounts. As spotted by Battlefield Bulletin on Twitter, there appear to be fake Battlefield 6 adverts appearing on Reddit which claim to be playtest invitations for the game’s Battle Royale mode. Unfortunately, the domains associated with these adverts are completely illegitimate and supposedly link players to a fake Steam site that aims to steal individuals’ accounts.

Fans are already eager to jump into Battlefield 6 upon its full release next month, but its Battle Royale mode has a huge amount of hype surrounding it. Very little of the mode has been shown in an official capacity, but EA finally gave fans an insight into the mode last week with some new information. While the mode will likely be similar to other popular Battle Royale titles, such as Warzone, Apex Legends, and Fortnite, Battlefield 6’s take on the mode will have a big standout feature, which EA calls the “deadliest ring in Battle Royale.” Unlike other games, Battlefield 6‘s Battle Royale ring will instantly kill any player who sets foot into it, making it a huge danger.

As for those who are more excited to check out Battlefield 6‘s single-player campaign, more of the mode will be shown off during Tokyo Game Show 2025 later this month. Publisher EA has already confirmed its presence at the event, while also revealing that it will host a live showcase for the shooter’s single-player campaign on September 26.
