Bend Studio has reportedly canceled several unannounced games over the past five years. The company has been relatively quiet after the release of 2019’s Days Gone, with the title’s 2025 remaster being the only release to come out of the Oregon studio since then. Despite that long silence, Bend Studio has apparently kept busy the whole time, although multiple efforts seemingly never made it out of development.
Fans had already heard of some recent cancellations from the Days Gone studio. In January of this year, it came out that Sony had canceled a Bend Studio live-service game alongside a live-service God of War title from Bluepoint Games. The news came as a disappointment to many fans, as there were already plenty of rumors circulating about the game before its cancellation, and now it appears that this was not the only Bend title to get the axe before an official announcement.

Bend Studio Dev Comments on Studio’s Future Plans After Game Cancelation
Following the recent cancelation of its live-service project, Bend Studio provides an encouraging update about its future games.
Video game news account and leaker Timur222 shared a screenshot of a former Bend employee’s LinkedIn page on Twitter, revealing several cancellations. The unnamed employee, who appears to have been part of the Bend Studio layoffs this June, lists work on “multiple canceled/unannounced projects” during their time at the company, which spanned from late 2019 to June 2025. Looking at the details of that work experience, it appears at least one, and possibly a couple, of these games were open-world experiences. While all the references to open-world mechanics and environments could refer to the canceled live-service project fans already knew about, they could just as easily reflect multiple games, considering how often that language pops up in the profile.
It’s unclear exactly how many games Bend Studio had in the works that never saw the light of day. What they were is also a mystery, and the former employee likely can’t be too specific about their work on these unannounced projects for legal reasons. Earlier leaks revealed that Bend Studio was working on an Uncharted game around 2020 that never got an official announcement and was likely canceled. That could very well be one of the titles the ex-dev was referring to on their LinkedIn page, but any such takeaway may be reading into things.
As for what’s next for the company, there’s little to go on, but its next game will likely branch away from its latest releases. Director Jeff Ross has said a Days Gone sequel will never happen, thanks to a lack of interest from Sony executives. Despite all these cancellations and the recent layoffs, though, Bend Studio is still up and running, so there will be something to look forward to, even if what that might be is unclear right now.
