Current Layer Hazard Britches
Mitigate The Dangers Of The Current Layer With Britches
Many of the layers throughout Donkey Kong Bananza feature some kind of environmental hazard Donkey Kong and Pauline must avoid as they explore the level. For example, in the Canyon layer, you will be presented with Mud for the first time, a substance that significantly reduces DK’s movement speed and can’t be climbed.
Each of the Style Shops in these levels offers a set of Britches for Donkey Kong that can help mitigate some of the effects or reduce damage inflicted by these hazardous surfaces. These are worth picking up if you have the fossils, and can be upgraded to be more effective if you spend more Fossils to increase their stats.
In the first half of the game, look for the Traction Britches to make DK move faster in mud and snow, the Hot-Pink Britches to reduce damage taken from Ice Water, the Poison-Proof Britches to mitigate the damage dealt by poisonous water, and the Burn-Proof Britches to reduce the damage you take on fiery or lava surfaces.

- Can be upgraded to increase Bananergy gained from gold by 50%, then 100%
The Bananergy Tie is one of the first major upgrades players can get for Donkey Kong, and it’s one of the best outfits for DK in Donkey Kong Bananza if you want to trigger a Bananza transformation more often. This simple Tie increases the amount of Bananergy (which fuels Donkey Kong’s Bananza forms) when you collect gold.
This does not apply to the Melon food item you can find that also restores Bananergy, just Gold.
Pick up this Tie, equip it, and watch as you more easily get enough Bananergy to trigger Bananza transformations. Even with just a 25% boost, it’s a noticeable improvement, but you can further upgrade this item to increase Bananergy gained by 50%, then 100% – effectively doubling its strength at Rank 3.

The Dig-It Neckerchief is one of the best ties for Bananergy restoration in Donkey Kong Bananza because it essentially lets DK destroy terrain to restore Bananergy (in addition to collecting gold). With this DK outfit, Donkey Kong Bananza players will be able to use Bananza powers much more often.
The one downside to this outfit is that it can’t be found until relatively late in the game in the Freezer layer (L500).

Battle Bow Tie

- Can be upgraded to increase Bananergy restored by defeating enemies by a further 50%, then 100%
Though the Treasure Tie is undoubtedly useful throughout the game, doubly so because you can get it in the first major level of the game (Lagoon), the Battle Bow Tie offers a more noticeable buff. With the Battle Bow Tie equipped, Donkey Kong Bananza players will be able to recover Bananergy (and trigger a Bananza transformation) by defeating enemies.
At first, this upgrade is not too noticeable unless you are fighting off a huge group of peekaboopoids (the small, multicolored squid-like enemies). But you can upgrade its effectiveness to be 50% more powerful, then double as powerful as default. This is the best outfit for Donkey Kong in Donkey Kong Bananza because it grants an additional way to fuel your Bananza transformations, makes multi-enemy boss fights a breeze to get through, and lets you maintain a Bananza throughout an entire Combat Challenge with ease.
