Description

This article contains spoilers up to the end of the My Hero Academia manga. Proceed with caution.

Summary

  • Overhaul can heal by reconstructing bodies but prefers using his Quirk for evil purposes.
  • Edgeshot can perform surgery by entering bodies but faces severe drawbacks.
  • Star and Stripe can manipulate reality to heal allies quickly, providing immense support.

Considering how battered and bruised a lot of the heroes end up in My Hero Academia due to the constant fighting, it definitely helps to have a healer around who can patch them up when they go against tough villains. While the majority of Quirks seen throughout this popular series tend to be based around dishing out damage or enhancing the user in one way or another, there’s only a select few which have been introduced that are primarily designed to help others by healing their wounds and injuries.

My Hero Academia: The 48 Strongest Hero Quirks, Ranked

My Hero Academia’s Heroes have some pretty unique and interesting quirks. These are the strongest of them all.

While most healers in the series will therefore come across as very caring and compassionate, there have even been a few villains who have been able to heal others with their abilities too, even though they may not always use their Quirks in the most responsible way. With that being said, here is how the healers of My Hero Academia stack up in terms of their overall reliability and effectiveness.

Overhaul

The Violent Mafia Boss Can Use His Quirk In Some Pretty Creative Ways

Overhaul possesses one of the most creative and complex Quirks in all of My Hero Academia, which allows him to both deconstruct and then reconstruct anything he touches, whether it be an object, or even a human. For example, if one of his loyal goons ever becomes severely injured, Overhaul can use his ability to reconstruct their body to back to a perfect state. While this works on others, he could also find ways to heal his own wounds by combining his own body with someone else, as he demonstrated when fusing himself with Shin.

The truth is though, Overhaul prefers using his Quirk to eradicate anyone who dares to stand in the way of him and his evil plans, rather than using it for the sake of helping others. Additionally, the villain has made clear that the process of disassembling someone and putting them back together is extremely painful, so while he can technically be classed as a healer, he would never be someone’s first choice if they are ever in need of a doctor.

Edgeshot

Edgeshot Was Able To Revive Bakugo By Entering His Body And Stitching His Organs Back Together

For much of the series, the Pro Hero Edgeshot uses his Foldabody Quirk as a way to attack his enemies with fast and lethal attacks; a prime example of this being when he was able to take down a hyperpowered Re-Destro by firing through his body. However, during the final war, it is revealed that Edgeshot is also able to become a field medic by using his Quirk to enter a person’s body so that he can essentially perform surgery on the go.

My Hero Academia: Every Character Who Used Rewind

Eri’s Rewind ability is one of the most powerful in all of My Hero Academia, and as a result, it’s been used by several key characters.

This is how he was able to revive Bakugo after he was killed by Shigaraki, and while it was a miracle that Bakugo was able to return to the fight, Edgeshot clarifies that there are some very severe drawbacks when using this ability. Not only is there a chance that it could end up killing Edgeshot himself in the process, but there’s also no guarantee that his operation will even work. Then again, being able to revive people with a guaranteed success rate would be a little overpowered, so it makes sense why Horikoshi provided some of these side effects.

Star And Stripe

By Manipulating Reality, Star Could Heal Her Allies In Mere Seconds

Because Star and Stripe is only in the series for a handful of episodes and chapters, it means fans don’t get to see the plethora of different ways that she can use her New Order Quirk, which is a real shame considering the possibilities are literally endless. To put it simply, Star and Stripe’s Quirk, New Order, is able to change the properties of literally anything; essentially turning the world into her own little playground where she gets to play the role of god.

In her fight with Shigaraki, Star would use New Order to deal damage while also protecting herself from his attacks, but outside of battle, she would also be able to use this to heal any of her allies who end up getting badly wounded in combat. All Star would need do is set the terms for how the healing would work, and that would be it, so if she were to say that Deku’s arm would heal in 10 seconds for example, this would be all that would be needed to get the job done. Of course, being America’s number one hero means Star and Stripe may not always be readily available to patch up others, but it’s still nice to know that such a formidable hero can protect others without needing to always put her own life on the line.

3

Eri

Eri Has Used Rewind Multiple Times To Protect Deku From Taking Damage

Rewind is an extremely dangerous Quirk, especially since it is able to erase someone from existence entirely if Eri ends up losing control of it. During the Overhaul story arc, the young girl realizes that Rewind can also help to protect others from receiving damage, which was put into practice when she prevented Deku from breaking his body after he went to 100% power during his fight with Overhaul.

My Hero Academia: 8 Best Overhaul Quotes

Overhaul is one of the most memorable villains in all of My Hero Academia, and he’s let out plenty of iconic quotes throughout the series.

After this intense battle, Eri would practice using Rewind on lizards where she was able to restore their tails by reversing their body to a previous state. The biggest example of how Rewind can be used as a healing ability is when Eri was able to restore Deku’s arms, which were blown off near the very end of the war, and considering how young she was at the time, there’s no doubt she will go on to become one of Japan’s go-to healers once she eventually becomes a hero herself.

2

Katsuma Shimano

Katsuma Can Manipulate A Person’s Cells To Patch Them Up

Though Katsuma’s Quirk might sound a little technical on the surface, it’s actually a pretty straightforward healing ability which he can use to get his friends back up to speed in no time at all. The way it works is, by making physical contact with a person, Katsuma is able to accelerate the function of their cells, which cannot only heal a person’s injuries, but even provide them with a strength boost if they’re about to enter combat with a villain.

In the My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising movie, Katsuma would be there to save both Deku and Bakugo after they are severely wounded in a chaotic battle. Due to his young age, it can be easy for Katsuma to get a little worn out after using this ability for too long, yet despite that, he clearly has a lot of experience using it, making him a very reliable doctor despite not even having his own hero license.

1

Recovery Girl

Recovery Girl Has Bailed Deku And The Other Pro-Heroes Out More Times Than They Can Count

Despite being a side character who can honestly be easy to forget about, Recovery Girl is incredibly important in keeping the heroes of UA prepared to take down the swarms of villains they encounter on a daily basis. Thanks to her Quirk ability, Recovery Girl can heal a student or teacher with just a single kiss, and there’s nobody who has more experience with this than Deku himself.

In the early story arcs, Deku was constantly breaking his bones and causing heavy damage to his limbs due to his inexperience using One For All, but Recovery Girl was there to save him every single time. The only reason the heroes are able to go all out when embarking on a dangerous mission is because they have Recovery Girl to heal them up once they return to the school, making her by far the most important, reliable and effective healer in the entire series.
