A new year means it’s time for a fresh Ultimate Team start, and Madden NFL 26 players can get a headstart with the help of Rookie Premiere players. These player cards are earned in Madden NFL 25, but they carry over to Madden NFL 26 with slightly different stats.
The Rookie Premiere program grants one free player just for logging into Madden NFL 25 during the event period, and players can grind more Ultimate Team challenges to receive additional Rookie Premiere player cards to carry over to Madden NFL 26. If you earned Rookie Premiere players in Madden 25, here’s how you can carry them over to Madden 26 Ultimate Team.
Your Rookie Premiere player cards will be immediately available in Madden NFL 26 as soon as you boot up Ultimate Team for the first time. Those players will be right there with all the welcome packs and other bonuses for new players. They won’t be 99 OVR like they were in Madden 25, but they’re still some of the highest-rated players you can currently get in Madden 26.
You could only earn Rookie Premiere players in Madden 25 before the launch of Madden 26 on August 7, so there’s no way to get them anymore. All you had to do to earn one was simply log in to Madden 25 Ultimate Team between July 10, 2025, and August 6, 2025, so there’s a good chance you have a Rookie Premiere player waiting for you if you’re an active Madden player.
You could also earn additional Redzone Royale players in Madden 25 by completing objectives and challenges, and those could then be used to complete Rookie Premiere Sets. Those were also limited-time rewards (only available during specific weeks), so there’s no way to get them if you missed out.
All of the 99 OVR Rookie Premiere sets in Madden NFL 25 will expire now that Madden 26 is out, but the Redzone Royale players earned will remain on your Madden 25 account permanently if you want to revisit last year’s game. Also, you can only transfer a maximum of four Rookie Premiere players to Madden 26, even though you could earn more players by exchanging Redzone Royale players in sets.
There are a few options to choose from when you open your Rookie Premiere packs in Madden NFL 26.
While all of these players have an equal OVR rating, some of them are better choices for your team than others. Before you select your Rookie Premiere players, though, you should open your other Ultimate Team packs so you know what roles you need to fill.
The best overall Rookie Premiere Choices are TreVeyon Henderson, James Pearce Jr, and Luther Burden III.
Henderson has some fantastic stats for a halfback, including 85 Speed, 85 Truck, and 87 Break Tackle. You can get some other great replacements for him, though, so it’s understandable if you want to go with someone else. James Pearce is a safe choice since he’s one of the best pass rushers in Madden NFL 26 right now, and he’ll be an excellent addition to your team’s defense. Finally, Luther Burden III is a great wide receiver that fits easily onto any team’s roster with 85 Speed and great route running capabilities.
