Zeus, Napoleon, and Prometheus are Big Mom’s powerful Homies working out of fear, adding a unique dynamic to the trio.
Luffy, Law, and Kid, members of the Worst Generation, join forces to take down Yonkos, resulting in epic battles.
Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro, the Monster Trio, are the most iconic and powerful trio in One Piece, each bringing unique strengths.
While there are already a bunch of well-known and beloved duos in the series of One Piece, in the same vein, there have also been some pretty intriguing trios made up of characters who always travel together and fight alongside one another in battle. Considering how dangerous the world of One Piece truly is, it’s crucial that anyone looking to sail the wide open seas has a group of allies that they can rely on, and while most pirates and marines will be able to dish out a lot more damage in twos, having a group of three can instantly turn the tables.
These Devil Fruits had the biggest impact in One Piece.
On the other hand, what can also make a trio of characters so interesting outside of their powers is the relationship they share with one another. After all, Oda is a master at giving his characters fun and quirky dialogue, so being able to see three people effortlessly bouncing off one another can make them a ton of fun to watch any time they show up on screen.

Zeus, Napoleon, & Prometheus
Homies Who Work Together Out Of Fear Of Big Mom
While the immensely powerful Yonko known as Big Mom is able to clobber anyone who trespasses on her island with her bare hands and Armament Haki, when facing a tough opponent, she will often rely on her Homies to get the job done. Homies are objects that have been infused with a soul that allows them to come to life, and while there are thousands of these little guys spread out across Whole Cake Island, by far the most important are Napoleon, Zeus, and Prometheus.
These three Homies take the form of Big Mom’s hat, electric cloud, and raging fireball (respectively), so while they are all extremely dangerous, it’s also clear that they are essentially only serving Big Mom out of fear. This creates an extremely unique dynamic between the three, especially when Zeus is eventually kicked out of the group, showing just how spiteful Big Mom’s servants can truly be when they want to impress their mama.

Gorgon Sisters
Hancock And Her Sisters Always Have Each Other’s Backs
After Luffy washes up on a mysterious island known as Amazon Lilly, he soon after finds himself in a hectic battle against the sisters of the legendary Shichibukai, Boa Hancock. While clearly a very dangerous trio for anyone to take on, luckily for Luffy, Hancock eventually warms up to him and even explains why she and her sisters have come to form such an impenetrable bond.
The old generation of pirates and Marines in One Piece had some of the most powerful characters in history, so let’s see who they are!
Before becoming a Warlord, Hancock and her sisters were imprisoned as slaves, until they eventually spotted an opportunity to escape after Fisher Tiger decided to break them out. Though they admittedly don’t get all that much screen time together, it’s still fascinating to see a Shichibukai treating her subordinates as equals, highlighting just how much of a close familial bond they all share.

Queen, Jack, & King
Kaido’s Absurdly Powerful Right-Hand Men Are Always Bickering With One Another
While Jack is the first of Kaido’s high-ranking Beast Commanders to appear in the story, fans are eventually also introduced to his other two right-hand men, Queen and King. Considering the prestigious position these three have managed to reach, it’s no secret that they are incredibly powerful, but what makes them so enjoyable to watch in action is that they all have drastically different fighting styles.
While Queen is a mad scientist who enjoys conjuring up hand-made viruses and weapons to take out swarms of foes at once, King is a naturally gifted warrior who soars through the skies while slicing and dicing his opponents in one fell swoop. They also share a pretty humorous brotherly bond, which makes them feel very realistic and believable, with King acting as the sharp and stoic leader of the trio, while Jack is often treated as the clumsy younger brother.

Luffy, Law, & Kid
The Three Stars Of The Worst Generation Came Together To Take Down Two Yonkos
Considering the pirates of the Worst Generation are technically all rivals, it’s not often that they ever decide to work with one another. However, in the case of Law, Luffy, and Kid, these three captains decide to put their differences aside during the Wano arc in order to take down Kaido and Big Mom once and for all, resulting in some of the most epic and memorable battles in the entire One Piece story.
While Law had already been a close ally of the Straw Hats, nobody expected Kid to also begrudgingly partake in their Yonko hunt. With Law being a master strategist and Kid and Luffy being reckless hand-to-hand fighters, it was a real treat for fans that Oda decided to give these three plenty of screen time together during the Wano saga.

Crocodile, Buggy, & Mihawk
The Cross Guild Is A Bizarre Faction Made Up Of Fan-Favorite Characters
Admittedly, the Cross Guild were only recently introduced to the story, though considering who makes up this group, it wouldn’t be long before they would win over many fans. The Cross Guild is made up of former Shichibukai members Crocodile and Mihawk, alongside Buggy, who, by this point in the story, had stumbled his way into becoming a mighty Yonko.
Nami has quite a few powerful attacks up her sleeve. These are the strongest of the bunch.
Considering how drastically different each of these characters are in their personalities, it’s hilarious to see them trying to put their plans into action. In classic Buggy fashion, the timid pirate captain tries to present himself as the leader, but it’s secretly Crocodile and Mihawk who are doing a lot of the organization behind the scenes. This trio will no doubt play a much bigger role in the future, and while it’s an incredibly unlikely team-up, it’s one that many fans didn’t know they wanted until it eventually appeared.

Luffy, Sabo, & Ace
Brothers Who Always Feel Close No Matter How Far Apart They May Be
Despite not technically being brothers by blood, Luffy, Sabo, and Ace declared themselves family after sharing a drink together as youngsters. Since then, they have been looking out for one another as much as they possibly can, even though they often find themselves in completely different situations and scenarios during their adventures.
For example, while it seemed as though Sabo was killed very early on in his adventures as a pirate, he would eventually make a grand return in Dressrosa, where he was able to assist Luffy in reaching Doflamingo. Ace would also show up here and there to help Luffy out, such as in Alabasta, before he was eventually arrested and executed by the marines. These three have been through a hell of a lot together, and the way Luffy talks about his brothers makes it clear just how much love there really is between them all.
2
Kizaru, Aokiji, & Akainu
The Classic Admiral Trio Who Caused Luffy A Lot Of Problems
Multiple marines have assumed the position of Admiral over the course of the series, though the most iconic members are the ones who appear before the time skip — that being Akainu, Aokiji, and Kizaru. With drastically different personalities and conflicting ideas about how to enact justice, it was always an absolute blast seeing these three in action, especially during the Marineford War, where they all stood up against a severely outmatched Luffy.
On the other hand, what makes this specific trio so intriguing is how they each represent different aspects of the Marines as a whole. While Akainu is very forthright and pretty merciless in delivering justice, Aokiji is a lot more lenient, willing to play around with the rules a little bit if he feels it’s the right thing to do. Though this familiar trio of characters has since disbanded, there was always such an aura of mystery surrounding them in the pre-timeskip era that made them so much fun to learn about.

Luffy, Sanji, & Zoro
The Future Pirate King And His Wings Have Made Quite A Name For Themselves
Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji are often referred to as the Monster Trio, due to the fact that they are by far the strongest members of their crew, and have toppled more than their fair share of foes when combining their powers together. As characters who have all been central to the story since the very beginning, it’s hard not to love each of these pirates on an individual basis, but this only makes it all the more exciting when they finally agree to come together to take down a common enemy.
Of course, there are also a lot of metaphorical aspects to this trio too, such as how Robin referred to Sanji and Zoro as the “wings” of the Pirate King, referencing the fact that they are helping to lift Luffy up along his journey to reaching the One Piece. The Monster Trio all shine in their own ways, and while they might bicker every so often, their strength and relevance to the story have made them, without a doubt, the most iconic trio in the series.
