Craft medical items at Chemistry Stations to build a stockpile without relying on looting or events.
Visit Human Enemies for a higher chance of finding healing items like Stimpaks and Radaway.
Utilize Daily Quests as an easy way to gather Caps, weapons, and medical items with minimal effort.
Death is inevitable in Fallout 76.Even the best players will fall occasionally. That said, with the right armor, perks, and medical items, players can reduce their chances of dying while exploring the ruins of post-war Appalachia. Stimpaks and various other medical supplies all have their way of helping players to survive a little bit longer.
Not all medical items are used for healing. Some, such as Med-X and Psycho, cross over into the field of narcotics. These provide the player with a timed buff to things like damage output and damage resistance. When used correctly, these can also help to reduce the number of deaths suffered by the player. This topic will take a look at some of the best ways of stocking up on all things meds.
Vendor Hopping
Shop Around For Deals On Meds
While Caps can be hard to come by early on, after a while, it becomes quite easy to stay topped up on cash. Most players have a vending machine at their CAMP that players can visit and buy items. Some players overcharge for their wares. That said, others tend to sell items for a reasonable price.
Jumping from server to server is a great way to find some awesome vendor deals.Since it’s possible to see how many medical items any player is selling before traveling to their CAMP, it’s very easy to gauge which ones are worth traveling to.
Complete Public Events
Most Events Reward Players With Medical Items
Public Events are great for earning XP, Caps, and a whole host of great rewards.More often than not, a public event will give the player at least a few meds when completed.
The reason why Public Events tend to be better than regular events is due to the fact that they are free to attend. Not only does this save the player some Caps, but Public Events tend to draw in a handful of players. The more players that attend a Public Event, the easier it is to complete.
Loot Everything
Increase Your Carry Weight
Fallout 76, just like all Bethesda Falloutgames, encourages players to loot everything they see. From loot containers to bodies, players should grab everything they see. If the player doesn’t have a Fallout First subscription, then they’ll need to manage their stash weight carefully. However, even then, it’s best to loot everything and then sell off or scrap any unwanted/unnecessary items.
While players can only loot one container at a time, when it comes to looting the bodies of downed enemies, there’s an option to loot all nearby corpses. This is a great timesaver as it allows the player to grab everything within a small radius.
Look For Human Enemies
Human Enemies Often Carry Meds
As mentioned in the previous entry, looting the bodies of downed enemies can be a great way to stock up on healing items. While creatures such as Super Mutants and Scorched enemies will carry the occasional medicinal item, the enemies with the highest chance of dropping meds are human.
Players who are hunting for extra meds should keep a special eye out for enemies like Blood Eagles and Cultists, as they often carry a couple of Stimpaks or Radaway. Visiting areas that typically have human enemies is a great way of getting some extra meds.
Craft Your Own Meds
Find The Plans, Craft The Meds
This next method can be a little time-consuming. However, if the player wants to stock up on meds without having to take down enemies or complete events, then it’s possible to craft most medical items at a Chemistry Station. Items like Healing Salves, Stimpaks, and Diluted Stimpaks can all be made at a Chemistry Station. These stations can be crafted easily at the player’s CAMP. They can also be found across the map in Train Stations and various settlements.
If the player is willing to spend some time running around Appalachia gathering ingredients, then it won’t take them long to craft a stockpile of aid items that will last for quite a long time. Also, thanks to some of the CAMP resource items, a handful of resources can be produced passively at the player’s CAMP.
NPC Vendors
Costly, But They Can Be Useful
Desperate times call for desperate measures. If the player is still having a hard time gathering enough meds to keep their health bar topped up, then coughing up some extra Caps might be a good idea. While the other methods on this list are more beneficial, if the player is in a pinch, then it may be worth visiting one of the many vendors spread across the map. Most of the vendors will sell at least a couple of aid items. However, those that specialize in meds will sell the most. Vendors like the MODUS Medical Terminal will sell quite a lot of medical items.
There are also Medical Supplies Vending Machines scattered throughout the map that sell a few aid items. Just keep in mind that these come at an inflated price.
Daily Quests
Easy Daily Quests Are Great For Gathering Meds
There are lots of Daily Quests for players to do each day. While some of them are rather time-consuming, others can be completed in just a couple of minutes. Missions like Trick Or Treat can be completed easily and with very little effort.
Players aren’t going to get a lot for completing these quests, but each quest also pays a few Caps and other items such as weapons, ammo, and even some rare items. When used in combination with some of the other entries here, it doesn’t take long for players to build up a healthy stockpile of medical items.
