Description

Hide the Corpse, the bizarre virtual reality game by developer Realcast that lets players hide dead bodies, will officially launch on the PlayStation in August 2025. Described as chaotic and quirky, Hide the Corpse is a sandbox VR game that tasks players to find creative ways to stash a body before the four-minute timer runs out. The game will be playable with the PlayStation VR2 for the PlayStation 5.

Hide the Corpse was originally launched back in 2024 via the Meta Store, and it was met with a number of positive reviews from gamers and critics for its fun gameplay and colorful design. As mentioned, the goal of the game is to find hiding spots across six locations, which have their own sets of challenges, and make sure that the cops don’t find the corpse. In essence, Hide the Corpse is quite similar to Draw Distance’s Serial Cleaners, a stealth-action game where players remove any trace of a dead body, but it’s definitely more chaotic thanks to its ragdoll physics and sandbox environment.

New Development Is a Devastating Blow to PlayStation VR2

PS VR2 users are in for some disappointing news as one fan-favorite title announces a major change that will permanently affect its players.

Recently, PlayStation announced that Hide the Corpse is coming to the gaming platform on August 18, 2025, which officially gives more people the opportunity to play the bizarre title. The trailer shows the many silly ways that players can stash away a dead body in the game’s vibrant areas, as well as the chaos that the ragdoll physics can bring in the process. In the YouTube comments, many people who haven’t played the game on the Meta Quest found the concept funny and interesting. Hide the Corpse is also set for a PC release sometime in the future, but it’s still listed as “Coming Soon” on Steam.

Hide the Corpse’s Varied Locations Give a Fun Challenge

Hiding a dead body has been a common mechanic in many games, especially those with stealth mechanics. This was further popularized by the Hitman franchise, where Agent 47 has to hide dead and unconscious NPCs to avoid getting caught. In Hide the Corpse, the six locations give players different options, from the usual hideaway spots like closets and chests, to areas that require an ingenious yet often funny approach. For example, the Museum area lets players conceal the body among exhibits, while Spaceship has zero-gravity, which increases the difficulty quite a bit.

  • Apartment: Familiar setting with clever hiding spots
  • Museum: Hide body among artworks
  • Spaceship: Zero-gravity
  • Sunken Ship: Players can submerge evidence
  • Garage: Tools are available to hide the body
  • Diner: Nostalgic area with more clever hiding spots

As virtual reality continues to evolve in the entertainment space, video game studios are continuously innovating to give players the opportunity to feel like they’re part of an immersive experience. There are already a number of good open-world VR games that do this job well, but having more quirky games like Hide the Corpse is definitely welcome for those who just want a fun time.
