Borderlands 4 Players Have Until September 18 to Claim 2 Shift Codes

Borderlands 4 has released a pair of new SHiFT codes, but players only have until September 18 to redeem them. Using these SHiFT codes secures two Golden Keys for players to use in Borderlands 4, which can then be used to open the Golden Key Loot Chests located in Belton’s Bore, The Launchpad, Carcadia, and The Lockaway.

Borderlands 4 players will likely want to keep their eyes open for SHiFT code drops. Generally, the lead-up to a new entry’s launch and the time following its launch see a ton of SHiFT codes released.

Borderlands 4 Gets Two New SHiFT Codes

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has released two new SHiFT codes for Borderlands 4. The new ShiFT codes are 3SR3J-CS63T-CFB3K-J3JTT-RZ5JR and 3SRBB-X9RBJ-CRTBW-3BBB3-KJFW6. Each code gives Borderlands 4 players a single Golden Key. Pitchford notes that the SHiFT codes will expire in 48 hours from the time of his post, so players have until September 18 at about noon PT to add them to their accounts. Players can redeem the SHiFT code on the official SHiFT site by logging into their Gearbox accounts and entering it under Code Redemption, which is located under the Rewards tab. However, players should be aware that unlike some prior SHiFT codes released in 2025, these two codes are only valid in Borderlands 4, so they won’t work with older games in the franchise.

While these codes will expire relatively quickly, players don’t have to miss out, even if they don’t yet own the game. Unlike SHiFT codes, which can expire, redeemed keys will remain in a player’s account until they’re ready to use them. If a player has a Gearbox account from playing prior Borderlands games and intends to get Borderlands 4 at some point in the future, it’s not a bad idea to redeem the code now, so that the keys will be waiting once they start playing the game.

So far, Gearbox’s latest game has been received well by critics. Most players also seem to be having a good experience, though some PC gamers have had some problems with Borderlands 4. These new Golden Keys should offer a great opportunity for players to unlock some new loot as they explore the challenges and experiences the new world of Kairos has to offer them.
