How to Find Shadowpelt

Shadowpelt is located within Whistler’s Maw, an Abandoned Auger Mine found in Cuspid Climb, Terminus Range. Players can only access Whistler’s Maw after they have found their Clave, which is achieved by completing the first Main Mission in Terminus Range, Shadow of the Mountain. Below, is a full walkthrough of Whistler’s Maw so players know how to reach the cave, how to navigate it, and how to farm Shadowpelt quickly and efficiently so that they can get loot drops fast.

Navigating the cave is pretty straightforward, so follow the linear path until you need to yank a vent out of the way, and then crawl through it to find the Ammo and Medic Vending Machines, along with Moxxi’s Encore. If Shadowpelt is the Weekly Big Encore boss, then players can pay 100 Eridium to make Shadowpelt have more health and deal more damage, with the payoff being the promise of greater loot drops with the potential of more Legendary items.

How to Beat Shadowpelt

Shadowpelt will spawn into the arena invisible, and players will only be able to see Shadowpelt if they manage to remove his Shield (blue health bar). Players should focus on switching out to a Shock weapon, as they are super effective against Shields. Once Shadowpelt’s Shield has been destroyed, he will be visible and vulnerable to damage for 15 seconds. After those 15 seconds, his Shield reactivates, cloaking him and forcing enemies to take it out again. Shadowpelt’s main health bar is Flesh (red), so switch out to Incendiary to exploit his elemental weakness.

In terms of weapons, players are going to want to use anything close-range and medium-range, relying on DPS-heavy weaponry, since Shadowpelt is very fast and will constantly try to lunge at you, making explosive shots very hard to pull off without entering Fight For Your Life. Another important aspect of Shadowpelt’s attacks is that this enemy will jump while invisible to unleash Shock Orbs in all directions, which can deal a lethal amount of damage, so try to focus on skills and Shields that allow for Damage Reduction. Shadowpelt will also flick spikes from his tail, which seek you out, so be ready to dash and use the jetpack to get to higher ground to avoid his slam attacks and Shock Orbs.

All Loot Drops from Shadowpelt

Shadowpelt has the potential to drop 3 Legendary items, but the RNG is completely random. This means that players are going to have to either be lucky or prepare themselves to farm Shadowpelt a fair few times if they want to see any of these items drop. These are the only Legendary items that are part of Shadowpelt’s dedicated loot pool, so make sure they’re the ones you want before you begin farming. The Sparky Shield is fairly good with the right build, but Slippy and Vamoose are skippable.
