This article contains spoilers for the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga.
Many unfortunate Boruto characters fell victim to the Claw Grimes and became a Shinju Clone or a humanoid God Tree in the process. Even the legendary Sasuke Uchiha became a chakra source for Hidari, despite the power and combat experience he holds. Among these Boruto characters, fans are convinced one of them could become a powerful Shinju Clone next to the strongest of them all.
Since the Shinju Clones came into being, many fans have been eagerly anticipating who, among the old and new Boruto characters, would be absorbed and join their group. While the adopted son of Gaara, Shinki, was the latest to emerge as a template, others can’t help but push Daemon as the next one, mostly due to the troublesome shinjutsu he holds. He is powerful already, but if he were to become a Shinju Clone, he might even surpass Hidari.

Sasuke was always strong, but he will return even stronger to the Boruto story.
Nowadays, fans are getting impatient with Daemon’s role in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Since he made his debut in Naruto Next Generations, he has never participated in a real fight that could make a lasting impact on the readers. The full extent of his powers is still unknown, and many fans are now questioning his purpose in the story. While it’s not a secret that he exists to protect Eida and make her untouchable, fans are still unsatisfied with his role.
Because of this, Boruto fans are thinking of other ways to push Daemon into the spotlight of Two Blue Vortex. He has been with Eida from day one, so fans think it’s better for him to step up and fight a humanoid God Tree, like Mamushi, by himself, just to make him more active in the story. Fans remember Daemon as Eida’s cyborg brother with Reflection shinjutsu, so fans believe it’s time for him to move past that reputation.

While fighting a God Tree sounds intense and exciting, fans are also thinking Daemon could become a powerful Shinju Clone like Hidari and Jura. With his troublesome shinjutsu and taijutsu, he could truly be a terrifying Shinju Clone with a playful and cheeky demeanor. If Bug’s Shinju Clone, Mamushi, looked creepy and terrifying to Eida, what more if Daemon becomes the next template for a new Shinju Clone?
As of writing, it remains unclear if a modified cyborg like Eida or Daemon can also be used as a template for a Shinju Clone. After all, fans have only seen ninjas like Sasuke Uchiha, Moegi Kazamatsuri, and Shinki be absorbed and used as a chakra source for the God Trees. There’s also Mamushi, who was born out of Bug, and Jura, who was revealed to be the direct incarnation of the juvenile Ten Tails.
Additionally, Daemon’s Reflection shinjutsu could be troublesome to counter if they ever think of turning him into a Shinju Clone. Since his shinjutsu basically reflects any killing intent or attack passively, his cyborg body might reject conversion in the first place. It might be easier to just kill him instead of turning him into a shinju clone based on what the story has revealed so far about his abilities.
It doesn’t matter who’s in 2nd or 3rd place, it’s irrelevant to me when I’m first. -Daemon
For now, it remains unlikely that Daemon could become the next clone template for a humanoid God Tree. Even so, fans are always encouraged to think of “what if” scenarios that would make the Boruto experience more entertaining. Whether Daemon gets absorbed or not, fans believe his extraordinary powers will be useful in the fight against the God Trees, especially now that there are hints that he’s going to fight Mamushi soon.
Perhaps the closest character who’s in danger of becoming a clone template for the Shinju Clones is Sakura Haruno for narrative purposes. Since Naruto Uzumaki has been sealed in a different dimension and Sasuke Uchiha has been turned into a tree, there’s always a possibility that the third member of the old Team 7 should also go out of commission for the same reason as her husband.
However, Sakura rarely appears in the Boruto manga, so it might be difficult to properly execute her conversion. Fans know she’s busy being a medical ninja at the moment, but turning her into a Shinju Clone could make her relevant in the story again. If so, this would be another blow to Sarada’s psyche, further testing her resolve and pushing her deeper into emotional turmoil. And when an Uchiha is overwhelmed, Boruto fans know a power awakening might be near.
