Characters Who Will Debut In Black Clover Season 5

Black Clover began in 2017, and after a bit of a shaky start (mostly due to Asta’s impressive lungs), it emerged as one of the best shonen of that time. It ran for 170 episodes, with the last one airing all the way back in 2021. A fifth season has been announced for 2026, and it is expected to cover some of the final arcs of the series.

The new season will see some incredibly cool characters introduced to the series, including a powerful new villain. Some of the new characters will play an important role in the story, and fans have every reason to get excited.

Yosuga Mushogatake

Teaching Asta To Be Even Stronger

One of the most exciting reveals of the new season should be the hometown of Yami Sukehiro and a major unit known as the Ryuzen Seven. The Ryuzen Seven are an elite unit that protects Hino Country (where Yami’s from) and reports to the shogun.

Yosuga could have been the shogun, but ceded the position to the current leader, preferring to fight with the Ryuzen Seven. He is also an excellent sword master tasked with completing the education of Asta on the Zetten technique. Yosuga uses iron magic and is able to manipulate the metal to his desires.

Ginnojomorifuyu Kezoukaku

A Regular Jekyll/Hyde

Ginnojomorifuyu Kezoukaku is one of the members of the Ryuzen Seven that protect Hino Country. She is most notable for her shy demeanour, which changes the moment she picks up her sword to begin battle. Then she becomes confident and a little unhinged.

She is a snow magic user, which, as the name suggests, enables her to manipulate snow to her heart’s content. She makes use of a scroll, which is the equivalent of the grimoire that characters from the Clover kingdom make use of. She is one of the first characters that take on the Paladins that arrive at Hino Country.

Yrul

A Fascinating Beast Magic User

The Paladins of Lucius Zogratis will be some of the major antagonists that will dominate the upcoming season of Black Clover. They are immensely powerful beings that seek to do the bidding of Zogratis, and among them is Yrul, a beast magic user.

Yrul uses beast magic, which is a rare form of magic that enables the wielder to both manipulate and summon beasts. Yrul can use these abilities in a variety of ways. So far, Vetto is the only other character from the show that uses beast magic, which puts Yrul in a very short and distinguished list of magic users.

Komari Imari

The Flashiest Ninja

Komari is also of the Ryuzen Seven and is a delightful character who helps in the development of Asta, as she is one of the people designated to train the protagonist. Komari is a ninja, but she is something of a subversion of the trope as she tries to stand out, something ninjas typically do not do.

She is a skilled fighter, as she was able to handle a battle with one of Zogratis’ paladins. She, like Luck of the Black Bulls, uses lightning magic and is able to move at incredible speeds while also dealing damage with impressive consistency. She can also use Zetten, which seems like the staple technique in Hino Country.

Humito Mikuriya

Hino Country’s Resident Healer

There are several users of healing magic in Black Clover, and Humito is the most prominent one from Hino Country. He’s an affable character who is a great help to Asta, especially during his training, as he gets him back into action again and again.

Humito is one of the people surprised by the growth of Asta, especially of his ability to grasp Zetten, which is an advanced technique. He’s not one to enter into combat, but he shares a close relationship with Ryuya Ryudo.

Acier Silva (Paladin)

An Unpleasant Comeback

One of the more somber storylines from Black Clover was the life and death of Acier Silva and how this severely affected her children, especially Noelle. She was seemingly set free when Noelle and Nozel defeated Megicula, but she was brought back as a Paladin under the control of Lucius Zogratis.

Her strength is unrivalled as she is the only character that is said never to have lost to the terrifyingly powerful Mereoleona Vermillion. Being brought back as a villain is somewhat heartbreaking, but she is a formidable villain whom the protagonists must give everything to defeat.

Morgen Faust

The Endearing Twin Turned Villain

Nacht is the elusive vice-captain of the Black Bulls, who is introduced much later in the anime. Also revealed was his twin, Morgen, who had died along with the rest of the Faust family after Nacht’s summoning of Lucifugus. He was also one of the ones forced to serve as a paladin for Lucius.

Morgen, as the twin to Nacht, is able to use light magic, which is the opposite of the shadow magic that Nacht utilizes. As one of the paladins of Lucius, he is powerful, having gained the abilities of the newly purified Lucifugus, and can defeat even the strongest enemies.

Ichika Yami

The Adorable Sister To The Black Bulls Captain

Prior to the later arcs of Black Clover, little was known about Yami’s background, with only the fact that he was a foreigner being the major bit about him. As it turns out, he has a little sister who is incredibly powerful and with a pretty dark past that even she doesn’t know about.

Ichika is able to use dark magic just like her brother and can manipulate other types of magic with hers to make for stronger spells. She is also a master swordsman and has a serious demeanor, which can make her a little scary to look at sometimes.

Ryuya Ryudo

The Shogun Of The Hino Country

Ryuya is a childhood friend of Yami Sukehiro and his collaborator when the Black Bulls captain left home, taking the blame for his family’s slaughter to protect his younger sister. He is the current Shogun of Hino Country and took the spot over Yosuga, who was in line for the spot.

Ryuya has no magic to speak of, but he more than makes up for it with his overwhelming strength. Ryuya’s prowess with the sword is unrivaled, and on top of that, he also has the Tengentsu, which enables him to perceive everything around him at that moment, including the thoughts of others.

Lucius Zogratis

The Main Villain

Lucius Zogratis is a villain who seeks to control the world and acts like he is benevolent when he actually isn’t. He was born with two souls, with the other being Julius Novachrono, the current wizard king, who is well-liked all around the kingdom. He is a cunning man with the ability to strategize and patiently carry out a plan.

Lucius’ powers are ridiculous as he is able to wield soul and time magic, with the second being one of the forbidden arts. He is also able to use gravity later on and, coupled with his immense strength and mana reserves, he is easily the greatest threat that the Black Clover world has ever faced.
