Knowing all katanas in Cyberpunk 2077, along with where to get them and their stats, is crucial to having a stash of weapons, and crucial still to have the best weapons available to V. Listed below is every Iconic katana in Cyberpunk 2077, including a few goodies that players might not expect to help enrich the hacking and slashing experience.

Volkodav
The Wolf Crusher That Burns as it Slashes
Attack Speed |
1.5 |
Damage Per Hit |
45 |
Stamina Cost |
12 |
Effects |
|
Iconic Modifier |
Grants a chance to inflict a unique burn on the enemy. Shooting an enemy affected by this burn always deals Crit Damage. The more enemies simultaneously affected by this burn, the more Crit Damage you deal but at the cost of accuracy. |
- How to Get Volkodav: Found inside the Police Station in the Gig, Waiting for Dodger (Phantom Liberty)
Volkodav has an interesting modifier to its Iconic status, as it synergizes with the use of weapons by allowing almost 1 in every 3 hits to set an enemy on fire, and while on fire, that enemy is weaker to headshots. However, the idea of a machete in Cyberpunk 2077 that is only used to de-buff targets before shooting them in the head makes it a lacking weapon when other options permit pure melee-focused fury.

Black Unicorn
A Hard-Hitting Katana Where Stamina Means Nothing
Attack Speed |
2.1 |
Damage Per Hit |
117 |
Stamina Cost |
6.4 |
Effects |
|
Iconic Modifier |
Attack speed is not affected by Stamina. |
- How to Get Black Unicorn: Own Cyberpunk 2077 on GOG Galaxy, or link your Cyberpunk 2077 account to GOG.
The Black Unicorn may share a reference with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but the similarity ends there. It’s a sharp katana that might be useful at the start of the game due to how accessible it is within V’s Stash, but it’s a katana that doesn’t see much use when compared to alternatives. Players can continue to swing the sword when their Stamina runs dry, but swinging wildly and without precision isn’t the mark of a true samurai.

Tsumetogi
A Katana That Deals Electrified Attacks
Attack Speed |
2.1 |
Damage Per Hit |
38 |
Stamina Cost |
8.0 |
Effects |
|
Iconic Modifier |
Slightly increases Electrical damage and grants a small chance to apply Shock to the enemy. Non-standard attacks deal more damage. |
- How to Get Tsumetogi: Found in a display stand in the Pisces mission, or looted from Hiromi Sato.
Tsumetogi is a visually stunning Iconic Katana, but outside of its looks, it doesn’t serve players all that well. It’s a katana that provides bonus Electrical damage and a minuscule chance to apply Shock to enemies, and that’s pretty much it. While players can see 5% more damage from stronger attacks like blocks, sprinting, and jumping, there’s just not enough of a bonus to warrant using this warrior’s blade.
10
Cocktail Stick
Shut Down Enemy Abilities and Make Them Bleed During Optical Camo Attacks
Attack Speed |
2.1 |
Damage Per Hit |
31 |
Stamina Cost |
8.0 |
Effects |
|
Iconic Modifier |
When Optical Camo is active, hitting an enemy causes Bleeding. bleeding caused in this way lasts longer than usual. |
- How to Get Cocktail Stick: Inside the dressing room within Clouds during the Automatic Love mission.
The cocktail stick isn’t the most flattering of weapons visually, and there’s something a tad crude and lewd about its design within Clouds. However, despite its visual style, it’s a weapon that does a great job of impaling targets who are unaware. Cocktail Stick provides a 16-second Bleed effect for enemies attacked while V is using Optical Camo, and this ability will also disable the affected enemies’ abilities to double-jump, dash, and dodge, making for a weapon viable for shutting down certain types of enemies, but also one that’s a tad too situational.

Errata
Burn Enemies and Hit Each Burning Target with Crit Damage
Attack Speed |
2.1 |
Damage Per Hit |
106 |
Stamina Cost |
6.4 |
Effects |
|
Iconic Modifier |
Allows you to leap toward enemies. Attacking Burning enemies guarantees Crit Damage. |
- How to Get Errata: Found within Electric Corporation’s Power Plant forge within the Disasterpiece mission.
Errata easily has one of the best visual styles of any katana in Cyberpunk 2077 thanks to its glowing blade, but it’s also one with a rather lacking modifier. Those who use Errata might want to watch the world burn, as it provides aggression like no other by allowing players to leap toward enemies and risk burning them with a 30% chance for every strike. Those affected by Burning will get guaranteed Crit Damage from every Errata strike. It’s aggressive and fiery, but not the best.
8
Satori
An Arasaka Blade that Pairs with Nehan and Inflicts Bleed/Siphon
Attack Speed |
2.1 |
Damage Per Hit |
31 |
Stamina Cost |
8.0 |
Effects |
|
Iconic Modifier |
Allows you to leap toward distant enemies. When Satori is sheathed, hold Left-Click/R2 to perform a Quickdraw Attack that is guaranteed to inflict Bleeding. If the enemy is already affected by Bleeding from Nehan, Satori will cause hemorrhaging instead. |
- How to Get Satori: Found within Saburo Arasaka’s AV on the rooftop during The Heist.
One of the first katanas players can find in Cyberpunk 2077 is a rather important one, as it’s the blade of Saburo Arasaka. Despite the stature and power of this man, his katana isn’t all that special, and players will need to pair it with the Nehan knife for further effects, as using Nehan to provide Bleeding and then using Satori as a main method of attack will provide hemorrhaging, which siphons health from enemies into V. It’s a fun weapon, but there are superior choices.
7
Gwynbleidd
More Damage Against Bosses and Crit Hits for Rapid Kills
Attack Speed |
2.12 |
Damage Per Hit |
117.27 |
Stamina Cost |
5.40 |
Effects |
|
Iconic Modifier |
Deals extra damage against bosses. After killing enemies in rapid succession, all attacks are temporarily guaranteed Crit Hits. The effect refreshes after quickly killing another enemy. If your Health is critically low, all attacks are guaranteed Crit Hits regardless of kills. |
- How to Get Gwynbleidd: Own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty on GOG Galaxy or link your account.
Geralt’s iconic sword from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt goes Cyberpunk with its addition to Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. This katana has a few great sets of modifiers thanks to its ability to deal more damage on the plethora of bosses within Night City and Dogtown. It’s a katana that also sees complementary styles from killing enemies, as each kill bolsters time where every hit is a Critical Hit for extended damage, but it’s a tad high-risk and high-reward due to the high-damage output, but lacks invested healing.
6
Jinchu-maru
All Attacks Provide Crit Damage in Optical Camo, and So Is the Last Hit
Attack Speed |
2.1 |
Damage Per Hit |
117 |
Stamina Cost |
6.4 |
Effects |
|
Iconic Modifier |
The last hit in a combo guarantees Crit damage. While Optical Camo is active, all hits are critical and allow you to leap toward your target. Increases damage against Elite enemies. |
- How to Get Jinch-maru: Loot from Sandayu Oda in the Play It Safe mission.
Jinch-maru provides a classic feel to a razor-sharp katana, and its modifier bolsters that feeling by gifting players the opportunity to strike and kill those most foul. On top of having increased damage against Elite enemies, Jinch-maru also favors a flurry of attacks in a combo, for the last hit provides Crit damage. To those who want further Crit damage, Optical Camo will be their ally, as it provides both stealth and Crit damage on each hit while it’s active.

|
Iconic Modifier |
The unsettling noise this weapon produces will alert enemies and cause civilians to panic. Optimized design also allows for improved handling. |
- How to Get Cut-o-Matic x-MOD2: Found inside John Blum’s head, between ESC Explorer and Digimmortal at Terra Cognita, Dogtown.
The only sword in Cyberpunk 2077 that allows for mod use makes the Cut-o-Matic X-MOD2 worth trying out, especially when it is so exciting in violence. This is a weapon that can’t be used for stealth brawls, as the weapon is always loud like a whirring chainsaw so that everyone knows what comes next. Yet, that’s what makes it so fun, since it’s a weapon used to clear out civilians and make enemies aware of the cuts that they are about to experience.

Butcher’s Cleaver
A Knife with a Thirst for Blood, Quenched Easily with Fast Attacks
Attack Speed |
1.8 |
Damage Per Hit |
47 |
Stamina Cost |
10 |
Effects |
|
Iconic Modifier |
When your enemy is bleeding, the cleaver attacks faster and uses less stamina. |
- How to Get Butcher’s Cleaver: Picked up from Placide after he drops it in Rolland’s Butcher Shop in the M’ap Tann Pelen main job.
The Butcher’s Cleaver might be a knife, but it’s the only knife found in the game that players cannot throw, so it’s best suited here. It’s a competent weapon with a fast swing speed and a low stamina cost, and the fact that almost 1 in every 5 hits will cause bleeding, is even better. If a target is bleeding, then the Butcher’s Cleaver can have even faster attacks and even less stamina usage to allow players to truly hack and slash their foes.
