Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida stated that both the Beastmaster Limited Job and the next Ultimate Raid are tentatively scheduled to launch in Patch 7.5 or subsequent updates. However, given the current patch release cadence of Final Fantasy 14, the 7.5 update is tentatively scheduled for the first half of 2026.
Yoshida’s statement came after Final Fantasy 14 launched Patch 7.3, The Promise of Tomorrow, which was the climactic update of Dawntrail’s main story. Although Patch 7.3’s main content was split across three updates, the majority of it went live on August 5, which saw a new alliance raid, San d’Oria: The Second Walk, along with balance changes to Jobs like the Viper and the Pictomancer. However, Final Fantasy 14‘s 7.3 update was also notorious for a notable omission, as Dawntrail’s second Ultimate Raid was notably absent.
Final Fantasy 14’s Beastmaster and Next Ultimate Raid Have A Release Window
However, Final Fantasy 14 raid teams looking to sink their teeth into another Ultimate raid now have a potential window. In an interview with PCGamesN during Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, Yoshida said that work on both the next Ultimate raid and the Beastmaster Limited Job is ongoing, and that both have a release window that aligns with Patch 7.5. Currently, Final Fantasy 14 releases major content patches on a four-month cadence. Given that Patch 7.3 went live on August 5, Patch 7.4 could go live in mid to late December 2025, or be pushed back to January 2026, should Square Enix choose to take a break for the winter holidays. If the cadence holds, Patch 7.5 will not arrive until Spring 2026 at the earliest. Yoshida said, “I think that will also be quite a unique experience, so players who really like to tackle high-end battle content should be able to really enjoy that.”

It is unclear what the subject of the next Ultimate raid will be, so Final Fantasy 14 fans must wait for more information. As for the long-awaited Beastmaster, it will be the second Limited Job added to Final Fantasy 14 following the release of the Blue Mage in early 2019. Further details about the Beastmaster, including its weapon and abilities, are currently unknown.
In the meantime, Final Fantasy 14 players will soon have a new challenge, as Guardian Arkveld from Monster Hunter Wilds will appear in early October as part of a crossover. Given how much content awaits Final Fantasy 14 players, only time will tell if it will be enough to sate appetites ahead of the game’s next expansion.
