The First Descendant players have the chance to play Season 3 Breakthrough through the newly released demo. The new demo gives players a sneak peek of what’s to come in the full Season 3 Breakthrough update for The First Descendant, including the new Axion Plains field.
Season 3 of The First Descendant will officially launch on August 7 as one of the game’s biggest seasonal updates from the developers at Nexon. The game’s third season will introduce the massive Axion Plains field, Hover Bike vehicle, eight-player Colossus Field Raid, Descendant Nell, and the long-anticipated NieR: Automata crossover, which includes 2B and A2 skins for Descendants. Fortunately, fans don’t have to wait until August 7, as the newest demo lets players preview some of the new content ahead of time.

The First Descendant Anniversary Event Giving Players Free Characters and Ultimate Weapons
To celebrate The First Descendant’s anniversary, Nexon reveals a special event where players can unlock some big rewards including a free character.
The new demo for The First Descendant Season 3 is a “curated gameplay experience” that gives players an early look at the core features of the Breakthrough update. Players have access to the demo through The First Descendant on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and the content of the demo is set on the Axion Plains, which Nexon describes as the “main stage of the update.” Players can try out Nell, face off against the new monsters from the Legion of Breach, use the Hover Bike, and take down the slow-moving but powerful Wall Crasher boss.
Players who complete the Season 3 demo will immediately receive bonus rewards in The First Descendant, such as a Spoils Box and a Crystallization Catalyst. There’s a new survey event as well, allowing players to complete a post-demo survey and receive another Crystallization Catalyst after August 13. The First Descendant will also launch an “Axion Plains: First Look Demo Event,” giving players additional rewards such as an Axion Box with new titles, gold, and three exclusive Hover Bike paintjobs. These rewards will be distributed after August 13.
While trying out the new demo, The First Descendant players can pre-register for the Season 3 Breakthrough update on the game’s official website. By pre-registering, players can claim exclusive rewards, including a Descendant Selection Box, a special title, and milestone bonuses such as a Transcendent Module and an Ultimate Weapon Selection Box. An Ultimate Descendant Selection Box will be given away to all players if total pre-registrations reach one million.
Like previous updates, The First Descendant players can expect more content during Season 3 in the form of events and additional updates. Nexon will reveal more details at a later date after Season 3 kicks off on August 7.
