Fortnite Festival has officially announced a collaboration with Gorillaz, with band members Noodle, 2D, Russel Hobbs, and Murdoc Niccals set to appear as the Icons of Season 10. Gorillaz is an incredibly popular virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, and it has released many hit songs since then. One of the band’s most popular songs, “Clint Eastwood,” is set to be featured in Fortnite Festival during Season 10.
Released in 2023, Fortnite Festival is a rhythm game developed by Guitar Hero creator Harmonix. The title, which can be played via Fortnite’s launcher, originally received mixed reviews from critics for being too similar to other games in the same genre, but has improved its popularity since then, with seasons offering fresh content for players.
Epic Games has officially announced a collaboration of Fortnite Festival with Gorillaz this week, revealing that Season 10 will be themed after the band. Fortnite Festival’s Season 10 starts on August 26, and it brings a new Gorillaz-inspired Main Stage for the game, which will be filled with skyscrapers, graffiti walls, and a train. The season will also feature songs by Gorillaz, and a Noodle & 2D Bundle, which will bring their outfits, Noodle’s Case Back Bling, DARE Emote, Noodle’s Axe Guitar, 2D’s Megaphone Back Bling, Gorillaz Camo Wrap, and 2D’s Mic. All of these items will be purchasable individually, and gamers who buy the Season 10 Music Pass will also gain access to other accessories linked to Russel and Murdoc.
Fortunately, Epic Games is also bringing some improvements to Fortnite Festival with the new season. The most noteworthy change is the addition of “Good” notes to the game, which will allow players to know when they are just short of achieving a “Perfect” one. Other changes include being able to sort the Main Stage Music Library by “song duration” and “song intensity,” and adjusting the design of lift notes to make them easier.
The presence of Gorillaz in Fortnite Festival was leaked last week. At the time, a leaker dug into the game’s files and uncovered Gorillaz as the band featured in the Season 10 Music Pass, squashing rumors that Daft Punk would make a return to the rhythm title.
The new content comes on the heels of Fortnite Festival’s Season 9, which started on June 18, and had Bruno Mars as the main star. Hopefully, the new season will be just as good as the previous one.
