Summary

  • Ten POIs in Squid Grounds offer varying challenges and rewards, with some locations being more advantageous than others.
  • The Labyrinth and Red Greens are high-risk, high-reward POIs with unique minigames and intense competition for loot.
  • Costly Condos and Player’s Power provide ample loot and strategic advantages for players looking to survive and thrive in Squid Grounds.

In Fortnite Reload: Squid Grounds, there’s one goal: make it to the end. That stays the same whether playing in solos, duos, or squads; zero build and build alike. With 40 other players populating the map and newly added obstacles and rewards scattered about the map, it can be tough to eke out that victory royale. But with a bit of preparation, anyone can reach those flying golden piggy bank dreams.

Ten P.O.I.s populate the Squid Grounds, and they’re not all created equally. Considering how many players drop in each area, the loot pools, and the Squid Grounds exclusive minigames at some of the select locations, there are some clear winners in the bunch. To best avoid elimination, here are the Squid Grounds POIs, ranked.

10

The Labyrinth

Duke It Out

The Labyrinth is one of the coolest things to come out of the Squid Grounds. A visual treat for fans of the series, it is flight after flight of maze-like multicolored segments. There’s loot to be found here, and it’s incredibly accurate to Squid Game itself. However, it’s not too great of a place to land.

The loot is scattered all over the place. It’s so winding and large that it’s easy for players to get lost and find themselves back to where they started, and it’s prime camping positioning. This is a battlefield right here, and it’s a fun one at that, so players should visit this location a few minutes into the match instead. Being eliminated quickly isn’t ideal, and this is the place where it’s most likely to happen.

9

Hectic Hedges

Close Quarters Chaos

It’s shocking that Hectic Hedges is considered a POI in the first place. It’s an ever-so-tiny hedge maze on the right side of the map, and that’s mostly all there is to it. That is, however, until the player falls into a specific bush right on the south side of the location, discovering an area underneath the ground.

The player will face a small obstacle course with a shooting turret, spiked walls, and falling fake ground, making it one of the most dangerous minigames on the map. Its rewards are a few rare chests and other goodies. It’s nice, but it’s not worth the risk. There are plenty of other locations to satiate the Squid Game itch, and plenty of them are more interesting than this.

8

Manager’s Meals

Unfit For The Frontman

Manager’s Meals is fine. There’s loot, shields, everything players need, but it’s not an exciting location. It’ll get a player in a good starting position, but it doesn’t put them too far ahead. Oddly enough, the most interesting thing about Manager’s Meals is the location that’s not too far away.

South of Manager’s Meals is an unmarked Squid Game-themed tower, a few floors stacked up with some good loot inside. The treat is in the basement, where the player will get a chance to try a Fortnite-ified version of Squid Game‘s famous Glass Bridge game. It’s incredibly easy to maneuver, just run across without stopping. This will net players two rare chests, making it a better landing location than Manager’s Meals itself.

7

Designer Docks

Load Up

Seemingly the source of all the standees around the map, Designer Docks offers easy access to loot, while still acting as a generally safe location. There’s lots of cover, so despite having the makings of a location players will want to stop by, there’s not a lot of risk involved in landing there.

If players need a place to hide, this is it. Trucks litter the area, and hiding in their cargo isn’t difficult. Players can equip themselves with a decent SMG or shotgun to catch others off guard and take them out swiftly. If a player needs to hold down the fort while their teammates wait to be rebooted, this is the place.

6

Affluent Arrivals

Unexciting, Yet a Decent Start

Affluent Arrivals is essentially two buildings connected right in the middle, adjacenct to a helipad and a loading dock sort of area. Visually, this isn’t the most exciting location on the map, yet it can be a great start for a match. No one tends to drop here, and with a few chests scattered about and plenty of slurp barrels around, the player is bound to have a full inventory and full shields by the time they leave.

Squid Game Season 3: 7 Things You May Have Missed

The bombastic third and final season of Squid Game moves at a breakneck pace, so you may have missed some of these more subtle details.

This location is right next to The Labyrinth as well, which is easily one of Squid Grounds’ highlights. Affluent Arrivals, while small, acts as the first stepping stone into one’s match, and leaves the player prepared for the absolute arena that is The Labyrinth. Stock up, ready up, and head in there.

5

Costly Condos

Lootful and Fruitful

Despite lacking forward-facing Squid Game flair, Costly Condos is one heck of a place to land. It offers plenty of space to run and hide if other players show up, and there’s more than enough loot to go around for any squad. It’s easily one of the best places to land in Squid Grounds.

There is a distinct lack of Squid Game goodies here, which lowers its ranking a bit, but it does give that vibe of being a VIP. It’s nicely furnished, the pool is crystal clear, and the view is spectacular. With easy access to The Labyrinth, Costly Condos finds itself as one of the premier locations on the map.

4

Player’s Power

Wait It Out

Player’s Power is prime rebooting territory. This is a decent place to land, as it’s quite large, and there’s loot to be found in every corner, but its main appeal is its reboot-ability. Due to the size of the location and how much space is occupied by obstacles, it’s a great place to hide and wait.

What makes Fortnite Reload such a fun game mode is the expectation of survival. If just one teammate is still alive, everyone in the group can still return. Player’s Power facilitates this and gives any squad on their last legs a push that can bring them back to glory. As long as the last player doesn’t lose their marbles, this is their chance to bring it all back.

3

Phoney Crossroads

It’s No Fake

Visually, Phoney Crossroads is everything a Squid Game fan would want and more. It perfectly blends the aesthetics of Fortnite and Squid Game, giving a bright pink makeover to Coney Crossroads, a classic Fortnite location. In doing so, it brings back SoFDeeZ, an iconic Fortnite restaurant. Unsurprisingly, Lil’ Whip is hiding something underneath the restaurant.

If players travel to the basement of SoFDeeZ, they’ll discover a brutal obstacle course with turrets, falling floors, and spiked floors. This isn’t unique to this minigame area, but its rewards are as sweet as the ice cream upstairs. With rare chests, shields, and regular chests, opening a match here is one step closer to a bonafide success.

2

Red Greens

Green Light!

Starring the most famous game from Squid Game, Red Greens is Squid Grounds at its best. It’s a dangerous place to be, seemingly one of the most popular landing spots in the mode, but its rewards heavily outweigh the risks. There are plenty of buildings around with many chests inside. There’s more than enough loot for a player to carry; they just have to get there first.

Red Greens’ main attraction, however, is the minigame found inside: Fortnite’s very own version of Red Light, Green Light. Players have to be careful when entering here, as it is brutal and unforgiving. Even walking inside the zone when the bear is looking towards the player means instant death. It’s a perfect recreation of one of the show’s most iconic moments, and the rewards for besting it are some rare chests.

1

Square Meals

A Game All To Its Own

Fair warning, Square Meals is one of the most popular landing locations in Squid Grounds, so it’s bound to have plenty of players at all times. That’s what makes it so exciting. There’s so much loot to be found, so there’s never any worry there. The appeal of returning to beloved locations like Butter Barn and Durr Burger, all surrounded by a Squid Game-themed setting, is too much fun to pass up.

Fortnite x Squid Game: How to Open the Golden Llama

Fortnite Reload’s Squid Grounds map featured a gigantic golden llama that can be opened for some unique and game-winning loot.

The biggest attraction here is the giant Golden Llama in the middle of the location. To open it, players have to beat four minigames, all underneath each restaurant found here. Anyone completing it and opening the mini golden llamas there counts as a part of unlocking it. The reward is a guaranteed mythic weapon. Despite being dangerous, this is easily the most fun one can have on Squid Grounds.
