Playing with one of these characters will give the player the best odds of success against inexperienced players. However, should they match up against a skilled player, they will still need to know how to use the following characters to ensure a higher-than-average win rate.

Endeavor

A true fan favorite, Endeavor excels a lot at zoning and keeping his distance while also being able to hold his own up close. This means he can back up while laying on ranged attacks to lure opponents in closer, as well as launch an assault while attacking from a distance.

He is also a very heavy hitter for relatively simple combos. This means new players will be able to perform against slightly more skilled players. As they become better with the character, they will see more consistent win rates. Having no weak areas at every range allows players to keep performing well at all stages of the fight.

Mirio Togata

Mirior Togata, also known by his hero name Lemillion, used to be seen as one of the best characters one could play in the game. However, even after some balancing, he has managed to maintain an S-rank place. He is able to use his quirk to phase through attacks, and this can make him seemingly invincible for a lot of players.

The trick to overcoming this is to strike not where he is, but where he is going to be while not phasing. This is easier said than done, as Mirio players can be hard to read. Couple this with dashes and repositioning, and opponents quickly become caught in his quick mix-ups. This allows him to quickly get behind his opponents.

Mirio is not an S-tier character beginners should go with. He may be extremely dangerous once mastered, but mastering him is also easier said than done.

Katsuki Bakugo

Bakugo is an extremely aggressive character. So much so that all the mechanics that make others so great can be broken clear through to shake up the fight. Regardless if Bakugo’s opponents are a zoner, mid-range, or melee-focused, he excels at rushdowns to put them in his optimal range.

While zoners and mid-range will suffer the most from his rushdowns, melee opponents can be locked down with his fast attack speeds. This is the perfect character for players that like to punish their opponents for playing defensively. He has lengthy combos filled with explosions, plenty of mobility, and has no trouble getting into his optimal damage range and making the most of it.

Tenya Iida

When comparing Iida to Gran Torino, many will say Gran Torino is the better of the two. However, Iida is still worthy of S-tier status due to how well he performs against all the characters below him. Just like with Gran Torino, players will want to master using speed as part of their game plan, but they will get even more from mastering cancels. Canceling moves into dashes will let players maintain strong offensive pressure against their opponents.

Iida is a great alternative for Gran Torino players looking to play fewer hit-and-run tactics and rather dive into combos and chase down opponents. This allows for a more well-rounded fight, as opposed to alternating between two different playstyles.

Izuku Midoriya (Full Cowling)

Just like Iida makes for a great alternative to Gran Torino, Izuku Midoriya (Full Cowling) serves as an alternative for Bakugo players. They are both great at rushdown playstyles, with Bakugo the more aggressive of the two. Izuku Midoriya (Full Cowling) is great at chaining his combos, and this can lead to strong finishers. Especially when setting up for a Plus Ultra.

Izuku Midoriya (Full Cowling) has one advantage over Bakugo, which Bakugo players may call a weakness. This is how Izuku Midoriya (Full Cowling) offers a higher balance between offense and defense. Having this balance offers players more tools for different situations and can mean having an easier time adapting to their opponents. This can make him less predictable compared to the hyperaggressive playstyle of Bakugo.

Izuku Midoriya (Full Cowling) is reliable and well-rounded. Offering a high win rate for players that just are not feeling Bakugo but want a rushdown playstyle as their main approach.
