One Piece has more than 1100 chapters to its name, yet there are still many questions that remain unanswered. With the manga in its Final Saga, fans are expecting the author to raise the curtains on many mysteries.
One of the things that Oda will likely tackle in the coming arcs is the God Valley Incident, which has a lot of relevance to the story. For years, Oda has kept it hidden, but there’s every chance that he will disclose the truth behind the God Valley Incident, along with several others, soon.
This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
The God Valley Incident took place 38 years prior to the current timeline. As the name suggests, it’s an event that took place on God Valley, which shaped the world of One Piece for years to come. It all started when God Valley was chosen to be the host of the Hunting Competition of the Celestial Dragons. The people on the island were humiliated and chosen for target practice. The Celestial Dragons and the Holy Knights participated in the competition, and things went well until the Rocks Pirates arrived.
Rocks D. Xebec went to the island to find the Devil Fruits and claim them for either himself or his crewmates. The legendary Rocks Pirates would have easily emerged victorious, but fate had other plans. Not long after their arrival, other pirate crews, including the Roger Pirates, reached God Valley. It is said that Roger teamed up with Garp to take down Rocks D. Xebec, but it’s unclear why the coalition happened or how they took him down. It’s also unknown why the rest of the Rocks Pirates didn’t help their captain. Hopefully, Oda will reveal more details related to the event in the upcoming arcs.
Monkey D. Luffy comes from an elite family. His grandfather is none other than Garp, the Hero of the Marines, and his father is Dragon, the Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Army. Fans already know about most of Luffy’s family members, save for one— his mother. So far, there has been absolutely no mention of Luffy’s mother, which has led fans to believe that she will also play an important role in the story.
There are many fan theories about Luffy’s mother, and many of them suggest it could be Crocodile. Of course, it’s an outlandish theory, but that’s the beauty of it. Nonetheless, Oda needs to disclose the identity of Luffy’s mother really soon.
Imu is the ruler of the world, and the highest authority within the World Government. They debuted in the Reverie arc, where they killed Nefertari Cobra. Despite having such a crucial role, fans know next to nothing about Imu. However, it’s very likely that Oda is saving the character for the end.
Imu’s past is pivotal to the story of One Piece. Once their identity and their reason for creating the World Government come to light, it will help fans to understand the overall story better. Considering Imu is involved in the Elbaf arc, there’s a chance that fans won’t have to wait for long to learn more about the enigmatic character.
The Void Century is a particular period in history that has been completely erased by the World Government. The organization has gone to great lengths to ensure that the truth about the century remains hidden from people.
It’s likely that the World Government committed several atrocities that it didn’t want to come to light, as it would paint a bad picture of the organization. So, the World Government decided to erase all traces of the time period, which would give them a clean slate. The only way to learn about the Void Century is by deciphering the Poneglyphs, which the World Government has outlawed. The Void Century is without a doubt one of the most interesting mysteries in One Piece, and fans are desperately waiting for Oda to reveal the truth.
Buggy is the leader of the Cross Guild, which has become one of the most powerful organizations in One Piece. For the entirety of the series, Buggy has been treated as a character whose only role is to provide comedic relief. However, it seems that Oda is tricking the audience and keeping Buggy’s actual identity hidden.
There are a couple of reasons why Buggy could actually be an important person. Firstly, he has close ties with Shanks, who is one of the most pivotal characters in One Piece. The two were even part of the Roger Pirates, and currently, they are Yonko. Secondly, Buggy can rally people to his cause. It may be because of misunderstandings, but he has earned many loyal companions. Hopefully, Oda will shed some light on Buggy’s past and his aspirations.
Blackbeard is the only known character in One Piece who possesses two Devil Fruits. The common consensus is that a person can only eat one Devil Fruit, which makes it even more surprising how Blackbeard managed to do it.
According to Marco, Blackbeard has a special body, which is why he was able to devour two Devil Fruits. Many fans believe that Blackbeard has an unnamed Devil Fruit that allows him to have not one but three in total.
