A new September 2025 update for Gran Turismo 7 is now live, introducing five new cars, five new events, and a new featured Curation in Scapes. Since its initial launch in early 2022, the latest entry in the beloved racing sim series has continued to see frequent patches, with the development team at Polyphony Digital working to keep Gran Turismo 7 fresh for years to come.
Despite facing an early review bombing campaign due to its use of microtransactions and grindy gameplay, fan response to Gran Turismo 7 has improved in the years following its release, with the title now boasting a robust average score of 87 on OpenCritic. The development team quickly rolled out patches and made alterations to gameplay to address player concerns, with the title’s patch cycle not slowing down over three years after launch. The August 2025 update for Gran Turismo 7 added four new cars, including the ’25 Chevrolet Corvette CX Concept and ’26 Afeela 1, for players to test out, along with three new World Circuit events.
Now, Polyphony Digital has launched Update 1.63 for players on PS4, PS5, and Gran Turismo 7‘s impressive PS5 Pro version. Five new cars have been added to the game’s roster: the Hyundai Elantra N ’23, the Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster 12R ’25, the Opel Corsa CSE Vision Gran Turismo, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40V ’74, and the Toyota RAV4 Adventure ’20. Those wanting to try out these vehicles will also have five new events to compete in, with new World Circuits taking place in Japan, Germany, France, and the US. Additionally, Bolivia has been added as a featured Curation in the game’s Scapes mode, allowing players to snap photos of their favorite cars while using the country’s unique topography as a backdrop.
While the game has proven to be a massive success for Sony in the years following its release, a Gran Turismo 7 PC port was reportedly canceled due to unknown reasons. Given the success of the company’s other PC ports, including Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Zero Dawn, many fans have expressed disappointment that the racing game isn’t making the leap.
Gran Turismo 7 continues to impress racing game fans, but it isn’t the only major title in the genre on people’s minds. In August, rumors began swirling regarding the next Forza Horizon entry, which may be revealed during this month’s Tokyo Game Show event. It’s been four years since the last game was released, and fans will have to keep an eye out later this week to see if the developers have something up their sleeve after all.
The following new events have been added to ‘World Circuits’:
Sardegna – Road Track – C Reverse
Suzuka Circuit
Watkins Glen Long Course
Nürburgring GP
Alsace – Village
‘Bolivia’ has been added as a featured Curation in Scapes.
