Some items in Hollow Knight: Silksong won’t appear until players trigger the quest related to them. For example, the Druid won’t offer the Mossberry Stew until players accept the Great Taste of Pharloom quest in Silksong. This Wish also demands Hornet to find other items, such as Courier’s Rasher, Crustnut, Pickled Muckmaggot, and Vintage Nectar. Here’s how to find them all.
To trigger the Great Taste of Pharloom quest in Silksong, find Loyal Mergwin inside the middle room in the Choral Chambers, where there are dining tables on the map. It’s a hard quest where Hornet needs to collect 5 items to complete it. Thankfully, the journey will be worth it, as once you finish collecting the items, giving them to Loyal Mergwin will reward Hornet with one Pale Oil in Silksong. Here are the 5 items you need to complete the Great Taste of Pharloom quest in Silksong:
Getting the Courier’s Rasher is not only the hardest task in this quest, it’s one of the hardest things to do in Silksong. To get the Courier’s Rasher, you need to talk to Tipp and Pill in Bellhart, and you’ll see the Courier’s Rasher among their deliveries. To find Tipp and Pill in Bellhart, you need to save them both first by completing these quests:
The delivery task is to take the Courier’s Rasher from Bellhart to Loyal Mergwin in Choral Chambers without using any fast travel method. Not only that, the Courier’s Rasher has its own HP that deteriorates with time. So Hornet must deliver the Courier’s Rasher:
Since this is going to be really hard to do in one go, here are some tips for how to deliver the Courier’s Rasher:
The best path to deliver the Courier’s Rasher from Bellhart to Choral Chambers is Bellhart > Shellwood > Blasted Steps > Grand Gate > Choral Chambers.
Here’s a path with a lot of running distances with minimal enemies interrupting your run. Of course, there are still some tedious areas with a lot of parkour and avoiding enemies, but not as much as the other roads.
Starting from Tipp and Pill’s location, move right to the elevator that leads to Bellhart’s second floor. Then get to Shellwood from the first exit on the second floor.
Once you make it out, be careful of the flower (Gahlia) enemy above. Jump to the branch to the left and move left, attacking the vines blocking the way. Then move up, going through the branches, until you reach the top, where there’s a road to the left.
After that, keep running left, avoiding enemies from area to area until you reach Blasted Steps.
Blasted Steps is the most complicated part of this Courier’s Rasher since it’s filled with enemies and parkour. There’s no way to avoid them, so Hornet needs to push through them. When entering Blasted Steps, climb the first hole Hornet encounters and keep following the way to reach the first bench in Blasted Steps.
Go left and jump to the first platform. Immediately after reaching it, jump up to the rock above it. Then use the shortcut platform on the right and skip this area’s parkour to reach the higher ground.
This shortcut requires you to hit the lever first. If it’s not yet available, then you should first unlock the shortcut.
From here, go through the hole above Hornet and keep going right to exit the area.
In the next area, avoid the enemy that spawns and leap to the other ledge. Then jump between the wall and the floating pole to reach the top of the pole.
Now jump to the hanging cage in the middle, and keep hopping through all the cages above it.
After a few cages, you can see a hanging bell on the right side; attack it to reach the wall there and get to the rock next to it.
Jump twice, trying to reach the highest Hornet can reach, then shoot a hook at the cage to the left. If this method is too hard, you can still go to the other side for an easier climb. After that, move again between the cages and obstacles, taking Hornet up, closer to her destination.
In the last area before having a few areas of peaceful running, immediately jump to the wall above Hornet and target the cage after. Keep going to the right side, leaping from floating rock to another, until reaching the two hanging bells at the end. Hit them to bounce to the wall, then on the rock next to it.
This is one of the most important parts, as two enemies are blocking Hornet’s way to reach the bell above them. There are two ways to pass this part:
From the other side, leap twice, then hook the rock on the right side to avoid most of this area’s parkour.
Then, for this final part, target the bell on the left to bounce to the wall, then target the second bell to reach the upper ledge. After that, it’s safe to keep running to Grand Gate.
Inside the Grand Gate, Hornet can parkour her way up into a shortcut that leads directly to the Choral Chambers, without having to go through the Underworks area. The only way out of this small room is up, putting Hornet in the Choral Chambers. From there, it’s easy to jump around the area, aiming to reach the Ventrica chamber above. Try to avoid enemies, as some of them are blocking the way.
This shortcut from Grand Gate to Choral Chambers must be opened beforehand.
When reaching the Ventrica chamber, don’t go from the right side, as it’s filled with enemies and hard parkour puzzles. Instead, go left since there’s a hidden shortcut and barely any enemies blocking the path.
This shortcut to the Citadel Spa must be unlocked beforehand.
Keep climbing all the obstacles until Hornet reaches the exit chamber that leads to the Slab in Silksong. From there, keep moving to the right side while barely meeting any enemies to reach the Loyal Mergwin’s chamber and deliver the Courier’s Rasher.
It’s less of a maze and more of a chore to get the Crustnut in Silksong. To find the Crustnut, you need to enter Sands of Karak, located right above Blasted Steps. The Crustnut is on the western side of the Sands of Karak, protected by an area filled with destructible traps on top of some indestructible ones. Additionally, there are a lot of tight areas covered with traps and spikes, where Hornet is supposed to go through. However, with patience and careful progress, you can get the Crustnut in Silksong.
To get the Pickled Muckmaggot in Silksong, Hornet must travel to Sinner’s Road, located right above Greymoor. It’s a big area with a lot of traps and strong enemies, so be careful when navigating the region.
The road to reach the Pickled Muckmaggot is straightforward, as you only need to keep moving forward until the end before climbing a couple of platforms. Once you reach the Pickled Muckmaggot’s location, a boss fight will commence; beat the Disgraced Chef Lugoli to get the Pickled Muckmaggot in Silksong.
You can get the Vintage Nectar from Halfway Home by talking to Creige in Silksong. Halfway Home is an inn located in the middle of Greymoor.
Creige will ask for 480 Rosaries to sell the Vintage Nectar in Silksong. By paying, Hornet goes down to pick it up, but gets ambushed by an army of ants. Defeat the ants to get the Vintage Nectar in Silksong.
To get the Mossberry Stew in Silksong, visit the Moss Druid, located in Mosshome. It’s a starter area, west of the Marrow. There’s no requirement for the Moss Druid to give the Mossberry Stew to Hornet. Just interact with the Moss Druid, and they’ll give the Mossbery Stew in Silksong.
