Description

Players are given access to five different weapon types in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Depending on the weapon type you choose to use, one of a few potential stats can boost the damage of that weapon through weapon scaling, and it’s important to understand which stats scale with which weapons.

On top of base weapon scaling, you can also upgrade your weapon mastery, which can further the damage you deal with those weapons, depending on how your character is built. Understanding weapon scaling and weapon mastery will determine how efficient your build is overall; here’s how they both work together to determine your weapon’s damage output.

Weapon Scaling Explained in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

You can see what stats scale a weapon’s damage by opening up your inventory and selecting a weapon. On the right side of the screen will be a small flower logo showing four stats: Strength, Agility, Magic, and Feathering. If a Roman numeral appears next to a stat for that weapon, that means it scales off that stat.

The higher the Roman numeral, the higher the stat scales for that weapon.

Strength and Agility will be your two main stats for most weapons. While there are some exceptions, the following are the main stat scaling for each of the main weapon types:

Strength

Longswords

Axes

Spears

Agility

Dual Blades

One-handed swords

Spears

There are also a lot of magic and feathering-scaling weapons, letting you focus on a spell-heavy character, as both of those stats also determine the damage of spells. Since respecing in this game is so easy, always aim to prioritize the stats that best scale for the two weapons you have equipped, as increasing points in agility when you only use strength weapons can be useless.

What is Weapon Mastery in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?

Weapon Mastery can be seen as just another layer of upgrades for your favorite weapon type. As you increase your mastery with a specific weapon type, that will increase how well all weapons of that type scale off the stats each weapon naturally scales off of. This won’t change the roman numeral of a weapon’s scaling, but it will give it a boost like it has a higher roman numeral.

No matter what you upgrade, Roman Numeral scaling is always the most important.

Weapon mastery does scale in usefulness based on the Roman numeral on a weapon’s scaling, so upgrading the mastery of a weapon will see weapons with IV scaling getting more of a boost than those with II scaling. Overall, increasing Weapon Mastery for the weapon types you use the most of is always a good use of a Mercury point, and should be done as often as you have the resources to do so.
