How to Beat Trobbio in Silksong (Boss Guide)
Description
Found relatively deep into Act 2, Trobbio is a boss who was teased during several pre-release trailers for Silksong. Trobbio is a performer who makes his home in The Stage, a sub-area of the Choral Chambers within the Citadel, but you can’t get to this theatrical, spectacular boss fight without going the long way, first.
To beat Trobbio, Silksong players must figure out how to anticipate its flashy moveset, avoid its explosive projectiles, and learn when the best attack opportunities present themselves. Follow this Trobbio boss guide for Silksong to learn how to unlock Trobbio’s boss room, strategies to beat Trobbio, and what you will get after defeating this optional boss.
Where is Trobbio in Silksong?
Right Above the Grand Bellway, but Accessible via Whispering Vaults
To get to Trobbio, Silksong players must get to the other side of the locked Stage Door, just above the Grand Bellway, to activate a lever. To do this, you must defeat the Clockwork Dancers, drop down into the Cogwork Core, then navigate through the Whispering Vaults to find the right-side entrance to The Stage.
Jump up into the rafters, then drop down on top of the golden lever. Hit it to unlock a shortcut back to the Choral Chambers, then go back to the Grand Bellway and sit on the bench.
This will set your spawn position very close to Trobbio, making the runback incredibly short.

Trobbio Moveset, Attacks, & Counters

|
Tornado Spin |
Trobbio dashes backward and spins into a tornado, charges across the arena, then bounces off of the side. Trobio will summon two whirlwinds that arc outward after he bounces. |
Jump over Trobbio as it charges, then try to stay above him when he stops. This is an excellent chance to get some pogo hits in, especially with the Wanderer’s Crest equipped. Hit him before the bounce, after bouncing, and keep pogoing when the whirlwinds are summoned. |
|
|
Fly |
Trobbio launches into the air and soars to the other side of the arena. Trobbio may perform aerial attacks while in the air. |
Walk under Trobbio, and jump and attack upwards to deal some damage. Dodge out of the way when he lands. |
|
|
Summon Firework Explosions |
Trobbio crouches, then leaps into the air with wings outstretched as a gigantic burst of red particles rocks the arena. Four to five fireworks explosions will spawn around the arena. |
Watch for the fireworks explosion location indicators and dodge out of the way. If there are no fireworks near Trobbio, use this as an opportunity to attack. |
|
|
Tunnel Under |
Trobbio will leap under the stage and travel underground, lifting tiles as he moves. |
Watch the direction Trobbio is travelling by watching the tiles of the Stage. When the stage opens, get close to the trap door to either deal damage to the boss when it leaps out, or hit away the explosive projectiles. |
|
|
Summon Fireworks Walls |
Trobbio will yell his own name, then disappear as walls of exploding fireworks blanket the arena. |
Anticipate the fireworks walls before they appear and dodge into a safe space between them. |
|
|
Triple Explosives |
Trobbio may randomly throw three explosive projectiles while in the air or on the ground. The projectiles will explode in two directions, either vertically or horizontally. |
Stay out of the way of the projectiles and, when they explode, keep away from the indicated direction of the fireworks explosions. |
|
|
Triple Explosives (Underground) |
Like the attack listed above, but only performed while Trobbio is under the stage. The boss will throw projectiles instead of popping out of the trap door. |
Once again, dodge out of the way of the projectiles themselves, then get away from the explosive lines that come out of each bomb. |
Trobbio Boss Tips & Tricks
- Pay close attention to the location where fireworks will spawn from both the explosive projectiles and the walls that can appear when Trobbio leaps under the stage. It’s easy to get caught in the explosive walls that these projectiles create.
-
All of Trobbio’s attacks deal two Masks of damage, but touching Trobbio will only deal one Mask of damage. If you don’t think you can avoid an explosive attack, try dodging into Trobbio just before the explosion or attack lands.
- The brief immunity after taking one Mask of damage will prevent damage from the explosion.
- Do not dodge into Trobbio as it is tornadoing from side to side, and don’t try parrying it – you won’t get enough i-frames to avoid taking damage during this attack from a parry.
-
Useful Tools to bring into this fight include the Sting Shard and Curveclaw. The
Sting Shard
can repeatedly damage Trobbio if he flies into it, and the
Curveclaw
can be used to deal damage to Trobbio while flying, maintaining DPS more effectively. - You can hit the explosive projectiles away by attacking them with your Needle. If you position yourself close to where the trap door will appear when Trobbio is underground, time your attack right after the door opens to smack the projectiles to the other side of the room, all but guaranteeing Hornet’s safety.
What Do You Get for Beating Trobbio in Silksong?
After dealing the final blow to Trobbio, he will make a grand exit instead of simply dying. As fireworks explode in the background, Trobbio will bow, dance around the room, thank the crowd, get on one knee, and raise his arms as more fireworks appear in the background.
Suddenly, he will blow up in a non-damaging red explosion and drop an item on the ground.
When Trobbio dies, he will drop the Claw Mirror Tool. This blue Tool is the “theatrical tool of a vainglorious bug” that will create dazzling light that damages enemies whenever Hornet uses the Bind skill to heal. It’s quite a powerful Tool, though it doesn’t stop enemies from getting through this damaging aura to attack Hornet and interrupt the heal.
More importantly than the Claw Mirror, defeating Trobbio will unlock a shortcut to the Whispering Vaults and the right side of the Underworks. This is useful for backtracking to complete Act 2 objectives, as you won’t have to go all the way back to the top of the Whispering Vaults (via the Songclave shortcut) to get to the bottom of this mandatory Act 2 area.
