EA Sports FC 26 continues to allow players to build their dream team in card form with Ultimate Team. With the ability to change your formation, specific player instructions, upgrade players, and even your manager, there are a ton of customization options in your hands to build the team that you want. The problem is, when you first start the game mode, you’ll find that your team has a random name assigned to it. The good news is, you can change this, but the game doesn’t explain how. Here’s how to change your Ultimate Team club name in EA FC 26.
How to Change Your Team Name in EA FC 26 Ultimate Team
Get Rid of That Weird Default Squad Name
To change your team name, go to the ‘Club’ option within the Ultimate Team menu and go to the View Squad option. You should now be able to see your lineup. From here, all you need to do is press in the left analog stick on your controller (otherwise known as L3), and you’ll bring up a small menu on the left-hand side.
This menu includes ‘Team Management’ options that allow you to adjust your tactics, formation, kit numbers, view player stats, and change between different ‘Squads’ within your actual Ultimate Team club. Select the ‘Squad Selector’ option and you’ll be able to see all of the squads you’ve created so far.
Now all you need to do is select the squad that you want to change the name of, and press X on Xbox or Square on PlayStation. This will then bring up a textbox where you can type in a new team name. Once you’re happy with the name you’ve chosen, press the Menu button on Xbox/ Options on PlayStation, and your squad name will be saved.
It’s worth noting that if you have multiple squads within your Ultimate Team, you’ll need to manually change each one through the Squad Selector menu.
EA Sports implements AI to censor any offensive team names from being allowed. However, it might be possible to bypass it using different characters or phrasing. While this might bypass the initial check when you submit the squad name, if you get reported by a player, or if EA audits players’ team names, you can get banned from Ultimate Team for up to two weeks.
