Monster Hunter Wilds now lets players change the look of their weapons while using whatever weapon they like, thanks to Title Update 2. There are many weapons in the game that are some of the best-looking weapons in the entire franchise. However, some weapons have made many others seem less potent and are not used as much in the best builds. Now, players do not have to lose the potency they provide just because they want to look a certain way. Here is how to equip layered weapons.

How to Equip Layered Weapons
When looking to equip layered weapons, certain parameters must be met in order to be able to use specific weapon designs. If you are looking to use a traditional crafted weapon for a layered weapon, it must be crafted to its highest rarity in order to be used. For example, if you want to use the Rey Dau sword and shield as a layered weapon, you must already have the rarity 8 version of that weapon in order to use it cosmetically on other weapons.
The Artian weapons can also be used as layered weapons. Upon obtaining a weapons refinement form, you will be granted the ability to use it as a layered weapon. For example, immediately crafting an Artian weapon from scratch will grant you its base refined layered weapon to use. After refining it to tier two to four, it will grant you its middle refinement form. Refining an Artian weapon to its maximum level will grant you that design as a layered weapon.
After installing Title Update 2, you will immediately be granted the ability to equip layered weapons. Any weapons you already have that meet the parameters listed above will be available for you to select immediately. To do so, simply go to any tent and go to the appearance tab. Now found as the first option, select Change Equipment Appearance. This will also bring up the tab to change your layered armor settings. Now listed above your armor are your two equipped weapons. Selecting one will open your available layered weapon options that you can equip.
