How to Gain Mastery Fast in Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles 2
Description
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is out now, and as expected, it puts strong emphasis on polishing skills and honing breathing forms to become the strongest demon slayer (or villain) out there. Mastery is a mechanic that determines how powerful your character is.
You can improve your character’s combat performance and, in return, unlock multiple rewards; not just from their Mastery profile, but also from Archives like Battle Attires, Quotes, Slayer ID Frames, Profile Photos, and more. This guide will explain how to gain Mastery fast in Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles 2.
How to Gain Mastery Fast in Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles 2
There are 46 characters in Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles 2, including Hashiras like Muichiro Tokito, Giyu Tomioka, and Obanai Iguro, as well as Upper Ranks like Daki, Gyutaro, and Gyokko, not to mention various academy versions.
You can raise the Mastery level of all unlocked characters up to 99 and earn exclusive in-game rewards such as character quotes, Final Selection, Hashira outfits, system voices, and much more. Mastery increases only when you play as that character; the more you play, the higher it goes. However, not all adventures contribute to it. Below are some methods that can help you level it up faster.
Training With The Hashiras
If you’ve seen the Hashira Training Arc in Demon Slayer, you already know that mentorship from the highest-ranked slayers is where true strength begins. The same holds true in The Hinokami Chronicles 2. The Training Paths mode lets you face off against one of the nine Hashira as the final boss, but before that, you’ll need to take on several mini-battles against other Demon Slayer Corps members or demons.
What makes it even better is that you can enter this training even while playing as an upper moon demon. The more matches you complete and the more damage you deal, the more Mastery points you’ll earn by the end.
The Path of a Demon Slayer
Another way to increase Mastery is by fighting in The Path of a Demon Slayer mode. This one lets you relive some of the most emotional battles from the anime, involving Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu.
Whether it’s Tanjiro vs. Sabito (the night before the Final Selection, where he faces Sabito’s spirit to break the boulder) or Tanjiro and Nezuko vs. Susamaru and Yahaba, each fight you finish rewards you with Mastery points. These points go directly to the profile of the character you’re playing as.
Fight in the Offline Battle Mode
Since Mastery is all about using a character to their full potential, you can also level it up quickly through the offline battle mode, officially called Vs Mode. Here, you can jump into a quick match with a buddy offline, fight against a computer-controlled opponent, or take on multiple characters back-to-back in a battle of endurance.
The most effective way to gain Mastery is by doing solo fights in Vs CPU mode. You’ll need to select two characters, ideally, a pair that can trigger Dual Ultimate Arts, like Tanjiro and Nezuko or Tanjiro and Rengoku. Most matches require you to win two rounds, but if there’s a tie, a third round will decide the outcome. Based on your performance and how much you’ve used a character, your Mastery rank will be determined.
