In Diablo 4, you will need to rely on your gear and your stats in order to get through content on the hardest possible levels. If you want to trounce end-game content or play on more challenging difficulties, you will want to get as much loot and complete as many different kinds of quests as you can.
One of the things you can do to get more stuff and XP is to complete the Season Journey quests in Diablo 4. One of these is called Cache Claimer, and you will need to get all the different kinds of caches from the Tree of Whispers to complete it, including the Ancestral Bounty Cache.
Farming for Gold can be increasingly necessary as Diablo 4 players reach the endgame, but Season 9 adds a new method that makes this process easier.
How to Get the Ancestral Bounty Cache in D4
All the caches from Cache Claimer are from the Tree of Whispers. In order to complete it, you will need to grab Grim Favors by finishing the Tree’s bounties. Once you have collected ten, you need to return those Grim Favors Tree or head to a Raven of the Tree in any major city and exchange them for loot. You will get a choice between three different caches when you turn in the Favors, and these can be Normal, Greater, or Ancestral.
While an official table with drop rates for these different types of Tree of Whispers caches is not available, it does appear that Ancestral Cache drop rates are lower than most players would like them to be. There does not appear to be any kind of pity in place, so getting one of these caches is purely RNG. Torment levels and character level may have a connection to how often you will see both Greater or Ancestral Caches, but that cannot be confirmed. It appears the only way to get Ancestral Bounty Caches is to get lucky.
What is An Ancestral Cache in D4?
Ancestral Caches are just like regular caches and Greater Caches in Diablo 4, but they contain better items and have a good chance to drop Ancestral items. You can tell the difference between the three types by the color of the text, the wording of the text, and if it contains an Ancestral star or not in this open world game with a lot of endgame content.
The base caches from the D4 Tree of Whispers that offers knowledge say “Collection of” then whatever type of items it contains; the text is always white. Both Greater and Ancestral Caches have orange text. Greater Caches will have “Greater Collection of” as the starting text. Ancestral Caches have “Ancestral Collection of” and it will contain the Ancestral star at the end of the text as shown above.
How to Complete Diablo 4 Cache Claimer Fast
If you are trying to finish Cache Claimer as quickly as possible, there is a much faster way to get all the necessary components to complete this quest. While the wording of the quest makes it sound like you need to open the caches to have them count; however, this is not the case. You just need to have the item in your possession, not open it. So if you want to get the three Greater Caches needed to complete that part of the quest, you just need one Greater Cache of the correct type, then drop it and pick it up again twice. This will count as three Greater Caches. This works as of Diablo 4 update 2.3.0.
