Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has a lot of different terminology players need to know in order to make the best builds. Benedictions offer all sorts of buffs, but only if you perform the right actions in combat.
One term players will start seeing a lot of in benedictions that’s not explained in a tutorial early into the game is Obliterate Attacks. These attacks are very powerful and can be taken advantage of in just about any fight against regular enemies and bosses. Here’s how to build up and land obliterate attacks no matter the enemy.
If you’ve never clicked with Soulslikes but still want to see what FromSoftware has to offer, it’s worth giving these titles a look.
What Are Obliterate Attacks in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?
Obliterate Attacks are done when an enemy is knocked down to their knees, and Wuchang performs a powerful stab attack on the staggered enemy. While fighting just about any enemy throughout the game, you’ll see a small white circle start to fill in as you continue to land attacks. Once that circle is full, the enemy is knocked down and open for an Obliterate attack, indicated by a slash icon that turns red once you get close enough to trigger the attack.
Even when knocked down, you’ll only have a few seconds to quickly get to the enemy and either stand right behind or right in front of them to make the icon on the enemy turn red and actually trigger the Obliterate attack.

How to Obliterate Enemies in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
Obliterating enemies is all about timing, as enemies can recover from any buildup if they are not attacked within about fifteen seconds. If you don’t attack an enemy in that window, they will completely recover from all Obliterate build-up, no matter how close to getting full it was. Even bosses can get Obliterated, though it will usually only happen once in a fight.
No matter what enemy you’re fighting, just landing a quick attack is more than enough to keep the Obliterate meter full, forcing you to play aggressively and never let up on your enemy. Obliterating enemies will also launch your enemy forward, where they will have to stand back up before fighting again. During this time, they can be attacked, letting you either heal or deal even more damage safely.
You can also trigger an Obliterate attack on small or medium-sized enemies by sneaking up on them and landing a charged heavy attack on their back. This will instantly fill up their obliterate bar and have you in a good place to get there fast enough to land the Obliterate attack. This stealth approach will never work on a boss, but it can be used to easily clear out harder-to-kill enemies.
