On your quest to get the Keystone of Rage in Hell Is Us, you’ll need to visit the Ministry of Cultural Primacy in Lethe to speak to Marton Ralst. Slight problem, Ralst is dead, and so you’ll need to use a bunch of hints in the environment to access his PC and get what you’ve come for from his safe. As with most things in Hell Is Us, that requires quite a lot of puzzle solving by exploring your surroundings and piecing the clues together. If you need a bit of help, I’ll guide you through how to find Marton Ralst’s PC password, and what his safe combination is, so you can carry on with your adventure.
How to Find Marton Ralst’s PC Password in Hell Is Us
When you arrive at the Ministry of Cultural Primacy, you’ll find that it’s been ransacked and many of those working there have been killed, including Marton Ralst. Where Ralst is found hanging, is his office, and his PC is just behind him, but it’s password-protected. Make your way through the offices, speaking to the various people as you go. Make sure to read the descriptions of each of the paintings and note these down, as they’re important for discovering Ralst’s PC password, as well as the safe code combination. I’ve listed all of them for you below:
Brohm Aster is born and lives until 79: 714 AD
Twins are born to Lord Brohm Aster: 754 AD
Brohm Aster Coronation at age 59: 773 AD
Assassination of King Brohm Aster ending a 20 year reign: 793 AD
Eventually, you’ll meet a woman called Maeve trapped in a room. You’ll need to defeat the monster across the gap down the corridor in which you entered the room from to help her escape. To do this, you can use a ranged attack with one of your weapons Lymbic abilities, or drop down the gap to explore the lower areas of the offices.
Explore the lower areas of the offices, as there are two more important clues that will help you solve the puzzles in this area.
When you drop down, you’ll find Marton Ralst’s wallet, which includes a hint to his computer password: the year of Brohm Aster’s coronation. From the portraits on the upper floor, we know that this is 773. Return to Ralst’s computer and enter 773 to unlock it and give you access to files about a dig, as well as how to access his safe.
In the first room downstairs, you’ll also find a fifth and final painting related to Aster, the beginning of the Bridal War, which started in 770 AD and lasted three years. Jot these numbers down along with the others.
How to Access Marton Ralst’s Safe
In the reception area of the Ministry of Cultural Primacy, the computer here hints that Ralst has had something done to the radio in the corner of his room pertaining to frequency 60 FM. Head to the radio in the corner, and move the dial to 60. Flick it to the FM setting rather than AM, and you should hear a sliding noise as the portrait to your left moves out of the way to reveal Ralst’s safe.
I had some trouble with the radio acknowledging that I had tuned into the 60 FM frequency. Keep moving the dial up and down and flicking the AM/FM switch until it eventually works.
Marton Ralst Safe Combination in Hell Is Us
Finally, you need to access Ralst’s safe. A note on his PC gives you the information, explaining that the combination will be comprised of an important detail in each painting’s caption, and the dates will determine the order. However, the ‘New Portrait’ note on his computer explains that the Bridal War was Aster Brohm’s masterstroke and that it should replace his crowning in his combination. We already have all the details from the paintings if you’ve been following this guide, so now it’s a case of figuring out the correct combination.
If you’ve spoken to Maeve since she returned to the office, she’ll also tell you that when accessing the safe, he made a comment about time going backwards. This is another hint that, actually, the combination should be in reverse chronological order of the events in Brohm’s life portrayed in the paintings.
With all of this information, it’s a case of putting the details in reverse order: Brohm’s reign ended after 20 years, the Bridal War lasted 3 years, he had 2 children, and lived until age 79. Enter the combination 203279 into Marton Ralst’s safe to unlock it and retrieve the ‘Iron Seal – Rising.’
