Traps can be a nightmare to deal with in Ready or Not, and anyone who’s played the game who says they haven’t been blown up by an opening door is simply lying. Anyone can get caught, and it’s a simple mistake. After all, Ready or Not places challenges in every corner of its design, including doors, apparently. If players want to counter the deadly door traps in Ready or Not, then check below, where we cover exactly how players can avoid traps and disarm them so that they can resume the mission without reporting their allies, or themselves, as killed in action.

How to Disarm Traps in Ready or Not
Players will not need to bring any tactical devices with them to disarm traps in Ready or Not. All they need is patience. To easily disarm traps in Ready or Not, players should approach any closed door and look to the doorknob until they get the prompt to “Peek Door” (X/A/F). Hitting Peek Door will see the door slightly open, and now players can look into the gap of the door to see a wire on the floor. When looking at this wire, players will be prompted to equip the Wire Cutters (X/A/F), and then they can hold R2/RT/Left-Click to disarm the trap. Disarming traps takes a few seconds, so make sure a teammate is watching your back or that the area is secured.
In essence, players want to follow these three steps to disarm traps:
- Look at the door handle and select “Peek Door”
- Aim at the gap in the ajar door and look for a wire
- Disarm the trap with Wire Cutters
If players decide to ignore a quick check for a wire and simply open the door fully, then the trap will be set off, and players nearby will die in the explosion. Alternatively, players can play it a tad more risky and loud with a Breacher Shotgun by blasting the door open from a distance to detonate the explosive trap, but it’s best to play it safe and disarm the traps from the outside with a wire cutter.
