Borderlands 4 puts players at the center of the action and shenanigans that are suited to the larger-than-life personality of a Vault-Hunter. Right on the heels of pulling off a heist, players will get the “TASK” series of quests from one of the crew members, Kilo. She’ll be sending players to empty Order Pods with loot inside. Opening these Order Pods will become increasingly difficult, and the last quest called TASK Master will have an additional step, replacing the power core.
The TASK Master quest is the final thief quest in Kilo’s questline that players will be completing in Borderlands 4. To unlock the TASK Master quest, they’ll need to first complete the Main Mission 5: One Fell Swoop, followed by the Kairos Job, Free for the TASKing, and TASK and Ye Shall Receive side quests.
Once you’ve completed all the pre-requisite quests, go to Kilo, who’ll be standing in the same position at the Launchpad Faction Town (Safe House). She’ll offer one last quest to players called TASK Master, which will send them off to salvage a downed Order Ship yet another time. However, the mission difficulty is marked as “Very Hard” this time around, but it’s not in terms of combat.
Now, players will need to reach the location marked on the map to find a desolate Order Ship in a field, ready for the taking. This ship will have a similar layout of buttons and levers like all the previous quests, except for one new mechanic. There’s a power core on the left side that players can pull from their grapple, which can make things trickier.
Before starting the button sequence, make sure to clear any enemies in the area. Since you’ll need to follow Kilo’s instructions and perform the appropriate action within seconds, any attack from enemies can disrupt it, forcing you to start from scratch.
Once you’re done, you can start the Order Pod opening sequence in the TASK Master quest in Borderlands 4. Here’s the sequence of buttons and levers that you’ll need to press to unlock the Order Pod.
If you fail at any stage of this sequence, you’ll need to start the whole sequence again. However, there aren’t any penalties for failing and restarting, so take your time until you get it right.
