Description

Players will be able to find DK’s rhino buddy Rambi chilling with Cranky in every layer of Donkey Kong Bananza, but they’ll only be able to ride him in one of them. The racing layer sees players mount the rambunctious rhinoceros to test their riding skills against two other familiar faces for a chance to earn some Banandium Gems and drop down into the next layer.

There are 17 layers in Donkey Kong Bananza, most of which are broken up into multiple sub-layers.

Beating Diddy and Dixie in Donkey Kong Bananza can appear tricky, to begin with, as the pair has a much faster base speed than DK and his faithful rhino. However, once players understand how to ride Rambi and make use of his special abilities, beating Dixie and Diddy becomes a whole lot easier.

Controlling Rambi is fairly simple, for the most part. Players will need to move the analog stick left and right to steer, and can jump by pressing the A button. However, the most important thing to know about riding Rambi is his Lift Off ability, which players can activate by pressing ZR after riding through a certain amount of terrain. When the bar has enough charge, using Lift Off will create a rainbow bridge made out of Liftoff Ore, which players can use to cut out huge sections of the course.

How to Beat Diddy and Dixie in the Racing Layer Rambi Rumble

The key to beating Diddy and Dixie is to use Rambi’s Lift Off ability to skip over the first half of the course. Players should start by crashing into as much of the turf as possible to fill up the barrels strapped to Rambi’s sides, and then use Lift Off to create a rainbow bridge to the left. By aiming toward the pink tower in the center of the map, they can cut out the first big bend, which should give them a fairly commanding lead. Not long after that, they can also use Liftoff to reach the upper part of the course with some gold triangles, although it’s debatable whether this second shortcut saves any time.

The bridges created by using liftoffs never disappear, so players can use the one they make during their first lap again for the remaining two. That said, they will need to make sure that they jump onto it (or use a smaller Liftoff bridge), as crashing directly into the side of a bridge can result in Rambi smashing straight through it. Players can also make use of any bridges that Diddy and Dixie create, although they shouldn’t really need to do this if their own bridges are placed well enough.
