How to Survive the Deep Desert Sandstorms in Dune Awakening
Surviving the sandstorms of the Deep Desert is no easy task in Dune Awakening, especially for players who’ve just started to visit the place. The storm can come calling at any moment, and players are often caught in it, having their Ornithopter wings shredded and even getting damaged beyond repair. Here are some precautionary tips to help you survive the Deep Desert sandstorms.
- Make sure to enter the Deep Desert in a Scout Ornithopter if you’re farming solo, since it can be stored inside the Vehicle Backup Tool.
- Carry some extra welding wire with you, in case you need to make emergency repairs on the go.
- As you pass landmasses while flying around the Deep Desert, make sure to make a mental note of them. As soon as you hear the warning of a sandstorm, quickly leave everything you’re doing and retreat to a safe landmass. This is important as the landmasses in the Deep Desert are quite far apart, and it can take a lot of time to travel between them in case of an alert.
- If you’re near a crashed shipwreck, feel free to land near it and hide inside. It’s one of the best pieces of enclosed spaces in the Deep Desert. However, do watch out for other players that might be hiding here as well.
- Some dunes are high enough to give you an enclosed status, protecting both you and your ride. However, it’s a risky move that can only be tried in emergencies.
- Watch the sandstorm’s trajectory on the map, as it’s possible it’s heading in a completely different direction than where you’re currently farming.
If you keep these tips in mind and gain some experience with how Deep Desert works, you’ll be alright. However, there’s always the threat of other players sabotaging your situation, so watch out for that in Dune Awakening.
