It’s almost time to get shrunk again with Grounded 2‘s highly anticipated release just around the corner. Grounded 2 invites you to step back into the tiny shoes of its now older teen protagonists, Max, Willow, Hoops, and Pete, in the brand-new location of Brookhollow Park. Developer Obsidian Entertainment also recently announced two editions of Grounded 2 when the game launches in Game Preview for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox PC, and Xbox Cloud, alongside Steam Early Access, Game Pass Ultimate, and PC Game Pass – the Standard Edition and the majestically-titled Minotaurs, Myrmidons, and Mants: Oh My! Founder’s Edition.

Grounded 2 Reveals PC System Requirements

Obsidian Entertainment reveals the PC system requirements for Grounded 2, including both the minimum and recommended specs to run the game smoothly.

If you can’t wait to explore the world of Grounded 2, you’ll probably be eager to know what each edition provides and when you can get them, especially if you’re eager to return to the size of an ant in style.

Grounded 2 Editions Explained

As recently announced via Xbox Wire, when the Game Preview/Early Access period begins on July 29, 2025, players can jump straight into the Standard Edition of Grounded 2 or play the game day one through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Alternatively, also from July 29, players can buy or upgrade to the Minotaurs, Myrmidons, and Mants: Oh My! Founder’s Edition/Founder’s Edition Pack, which comes with some additional features, with both editions outlined below:

Standard Edition

The Standard Edition of Grounded 2 will be available for purchase for USD $29.99 during the Game Preview/Early Access period. Like the Founder’s Edition, the Standard Edition comes with a copy of Grounded 2 in Game Preview. However, players who get the Standard Edition will also get The Tools of Yore decorative set, something that all players receive for free whichever edition of the game they choose as a thank-you from Obsidian Entertainment.

Minotaurs, Myrmidons, and Mants: Oh My! Founder’s Edition

In contrast, The Minotaurs, Myrmidons, and Mants: Oh My! Founder’s Edition of Grounded 2 will cost USD $39.99 or, alternatively, USD $10.00 for the Founder’s Pack upgrade for those who might choose to purchase or have access to the Standard Edition. Therefore, if you plan on playing Grounded 2 on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate/PC Game Pass or, if you later change your mind after obtaining the Standard Edition, the Founder’s Edition will also be available as the Founder’s Pack upgrade, which costs USD $10.00. The Founder’s Edition/Founder’s Pack upgrade includes the following:

• Grounded 2 digital game download.
• Four premium skins with their own custom emotes – the mighty Minotaur, the stoic Myrmidon, the elusive Rogue, and the fearsome Mant.
• The “ONYX-PRO, Inside the Game” digital artbook and soundtrack, taking players behind-the-scenes into the game’s development and to be updated throughout the game’s Game Preview/Early Access period.
• The Tools of Yore decorative set.
• More items with secrets.

Obsidian has also confirmed that the cosmetic items in the Founder’s Edition/Founder’s Pack upgrade won’t affect gameplay or progression. The main differences between the Standard Edition and Founder’s Edition seem to be mainly cosmetic, plus behind-the-scenes digital art/soundtrack content. However, the addition of ‘More items will be added with secrets’ in the Founder’s Edition suggests it could also contain even more features yet to be announced, though what these might be remains to be seen.
