There are very few anime that can generate the same level of hype as Jujutsu Kaisen. The series is based on Gege Akutami’s manga of the same name, and in just a few years, it has become one of the most popular anime series in the world.
After the conclusion of the second season, there was an official announcement that confirmed the anime’s return. However, fans had to wait for quite a while to learn the release date for the third season.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is set to be released in January 2026, which means there are only a few months left before fans get to see Itadori Yuji and the rest of the gang back in action. Before JJK Season 3 hits streaming platforms, a recompilation movie that contains content from the second season and the first couple of episodes from the third season will be released. The movie is being released in Japan as well as internationally, so nobody will be left out.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will cover the Culling Game, which is full of action. Fans who have read the manga consider it to be better than the Shibuya Incident arc. While it’s a debatable subject, there’s no denying that the Culling Game Arc is exciting.
Following the announcement of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3’s release date, fans firmly believed that it was the anime to beat in 2026. They were confident that it could overshadow Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2, Hell’s Paradise Season 2, and Fire Force Final Season. However, a new contender has emerged, which could leave all the other anime in the dust.
Hiromu Arakawa is most well-known as the author of the Fullmetal Alchemist series, which served as the inspiration of the anime of the same name. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is widely believed to be the most well-rounded anime in history. It has a riveting story, along with an amazing cast of characters. The anime adaptation has solid pacing, so viewers don’t feel that it’s too fast or slow. Since the anime has been produced by Madhouse, the animation is excellent.
Aside from Fullmetal Alchemist, Hiromu Arakawa has also written Daemons of the Shadow Realm. The manga has been in serialization for a long time, and given its quality, it was obvious that an anime adaptation would be announced. Recently, it was confirmed that the Daemons of the Shadow Realm anime will be released sometime in 2026 and that the anime will be produced by Studio Bones Film. The studio was responsible for the production of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, which was a major hit within the anime community.
Hiromu Arakawa has a solid reputation, mainly because of Fullmetal Alchemist. But it’s possible that Daemons of the Shadow Realm could be her next big hit. Presently, the manga has a rating of 7.46 on MyAnimeList, which is not high, unlike Fullmetal Alchemist. However, it is unwise to assume that the anime’s rating will be the same. A lot of times, an anime adaptation is better received than the manga, and it could be the case for Daemons of the Shadow Realm. Bones Film is an excellent studio, and it is perfectly capable of delivering a stellar adaptation.
While JJK Season 3 has to compete with other famous anime, there’s no denying that it will be watched by millions of people across the world. The third season of the anime will focus on Itadori Yuji as he tries to avoid being assassinated.
The new season will also bring Yuta Okkotsu into the limelight. He was heavily involved in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, but since then he’s been away. Since the new season will cover the Culling Game arc, fans can expect to see some incredible fights between Jujutsu sorcerers and Curses.
