Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga has been quite exciting as of late, but to this day, fans are wondering about the return of the most popular character in the whole franchise, the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. As some fans might know, Naruto Uzumaki met quite a cruel fate towards the end of Boruto Part 1. He was sealed away by none other than Kawaki, and since then, fans haven’t seen much of him.

Boruto: Naruto Uzumaki Could Be Unsealed Soon, And He Will Regain 1 Big Forgotten Power
Naruto Uzumaki will eventually return, and when he does, he will return stronger than ever in Boruto.
Fans are eagerly waiting for his return, but Kishimoto has already revealed bad news to the fans long ago, without them even realising it. Naruto won’t be returning anytime soon, and even if he does, it might end in a big heartbreak for all the fans, making his overall character arc quite tragic in Boruto, which is one of the biggest reasons why fans don’t like this story.
Naruto Uzumaki’s downfall in Boruto was inevitable right from the beginning. Even before he was sealed, fans knew something bad would happen to him and this is simply because Kishimoto mentioned in the very first chapter that the Seventh Hokage had been severely incapacitated in the future. Some believed Naruto had died, while others thought he was sealed away. The latter turned out to be true, as fans know very well by now.
I’ll send you to the same place as Lord Seventh, Boruto. — Kawaki
Towards the end of Boruto Part 1, fans saw the whole situation in Konoha unfold. First off, Naruto Uzumaki lost his powers in the battle against Isshiki Otsutsuki. This happened due to Baryon Mode, and it certainly made for an entertaining twist. But, the consequences were huge. Naruto losing Kurama meant that his already nerfed self was now even weaker, and this gave Kawaki a reason to seal him away to protect him. Kawaki won’t be letting Naruto out until all Otsutsuki are gone, including Boruto Uzumaki.
While fans know that Naruto will eventually return, the fact of the matter is that Boruto Vs Kawaki has to happen before the end of the story. In other words, Naruto Uzumaki won’t be back before the ultimate battle in the story, which is similar to Naruto Vs Sasuke from the OG series. This is very bad news for all the fans, as it practically confirms that Naruto Uzumaki won’t be back for the vast majority of the story. At the same time, it also means that Naruto could very well hardly have a role to play when he’s back.

Boruto: Kishimoto Has Confirmed Boruto’s Next Power-Up, And It Could Make Him Stronger Than Naruto
Boruto is strong, but not stronger than Naruto yet. This next power-up could change that, however.
Come, Otsutsuki! I’ll show you what true shinobi resolve is like.
When Naruto does return, Boruto and Kawaki will have settled their differences. At the same time, the world order would’ve been restored, so there wouldn’t be much for him to do. Some might say he would be Hokage, but the fact is that the series will already be close to ending, and that means Sarada will have to fulfil her goals. In fact, before her, even Konohamaru has to become Hokage. Naruto cannot be Hokage if they are to pursue their dreams, which means he will also lose his Hokage position, rendering him useless in the grand scheme of things. It’s twisted, but it seems this is what Boruto is heading towards.
