The upcoming Street Fighter movie already has an impressive cast, with Jason Momoa, Alan Ritchson, and Winston Duke set to appear in the video game adaptation. However, there are no signs of that slowing down, as another major name is reportedly joining the cast.

While little is known about Street Fighter’s plot, audiences will undoubtedly be expecting a lot of action, given the nature of the video game series. That has led to Legendary Pictures bringing top WWE Superstar Roman Reigns into the cast, and it appears he won’t be the only wrestler involved in this movie.

The cast of the upcoming Street Fighter reboot movie continues to grow, as the roster grows with an actor reportedly set to play Balrog.

Reigns will be taking on the role of Akuma in Street Fighter, which will mark the biggest opportunity he’s had to date in Hollywood, as he aims to follow in the footsteps of people like John Cena and Dave Bautista. However, he is going to be joined by another major star from the world of WWE in Cody Rhodes. According to Nexus Point News, the former Undisputed WWE Champion is in talks to take on the role of Guile, who is an iconic character from the Street Fighter franchise.

Guile debuted in Street Fighter II, and while he’s not an original character, he has been popular with gamers. He has a military background with a classic flat-top haircut, and is best known for his Sonic Boom move, all of which fans of the franchise will be hoping to see brought to life by the ‘American Nightmare’ in the upcoming movie. Rhodes will have big shoes to step into as far as live-action adaptations of the character, as Jean-Claude Van Damme previously played Guile in the 1994 movie.

Adding Rhodes to this movie would be interesting for most WWE fans, given his history with Reigns in the wrestling world. The two men have been significant rivals in recent years, feuding in the main event scene for WWE’s top prize, which has included them facing each other in three WrestleMania main event matches. Whether it happens or not, seeing them face off within Street Fighter would be something that wrestling fans would get a kick out of. They’re considered to be WWE’s two biggest current stars; therefore, they will bring a certain level of intrigue from the world of wrestling to this movie, which would likely boost the box office results.

The WWE Superstar might be best known for his work inside the squared circle, but he does have some acting experience to bring to this role. He played the character of Derek Sampson for seven episodes of Arrow, while he was recently involved in The Naked Gun, which will be released later this year.
