Description

Marvel Rivals players are happy with the Wolverine nerfs recently announced by NetEase. The iconic mutant is one of the Marvel Rivals Duelists that players can choose from, and recently attracted attention for receiving adjustments focused on reducing the power of his kit.

The upcoming Marvel Rivals patch will go live on July 17 and will bring nerfs to decrease Wolverine’s survivability. With that, the base damage of Berserk Claw Strike and the percentage damage per attack that his ability causes at maximum Rage will be reduced. The devs have increased the cooldown time of Regenerative Healing Factor and increased the cooldown reduction that players get when they score an assist. Additionally, Wolverine’s team-up with Jean Grey will be nerfed, giving him less life steal. After revealing these adjustments, the Marvel Rivals community quickly expressed their opinions.

Marvel Rivals Players Are Unhappy With the Amount of Duelists in the Game

Marvel Rivals players come together to express their frustration with the amount of Duelists available in NetEase Games’ popular hero shooter.

Marvel Rivals players are celebrating the nerfs Wolverine will receive in the July 17 update. On the Marvel Rivals subreddit, user DemiFiendRSA posted the patch notes for the Logan-focused balance. Redditors responded with 1,400 upvotes and over 400 comments, many happy that NetEase has finally addressed the effectiveness of Wolverine’s team-up with Phoenix. Others said the patch is in the right direction to adjust the mutant’s power, which most comments consider to be broken in Season 3. Another player praised the developers’ quick action, saying that Wolverine would be a bigger problem if he weren’t quickly nerfed.

Marvel Rivals Announces Nerfs for Wolverine, Players React to the Announcement

While the consensus among players is happiness at finally seeing one of the biggest headaches of the moment in Marvel Rivals being nerfed, other Redditors still feel that the adjustment is not enough. Several players consider that the life steal reduction is still too low, and some even call for its complete removal. Others said they will continue to ban the Marvel Rivals Duelist regardless of the nerfs. Part of the comments section criticized the balancing of characters made around their team-ups, which can be removed at any time.

That is not the first time Marvel Rivals has made a character too strong by giving them a new team-up. With the debut of The Fantastic Four, the Human Torch got a team-up with Storm that quickly drew attention for being very powerful. However, Marvel Rivals removed this team-up at the start of Season 3. As for Wolverine, players hope that these adjustments will make the character less oppressive, making matches less defined by whether he’s banned or picked.
