Most Anticipated Games Of October 2025
Description
October 2025 is shaping up to be a blockbuster month for video gaming. This year hasn’t let up, with games like Blue Prince, The Alters, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2, and Hollow Knight: Silksong letting players experience the epitome of gaming brilliance.
If all of these upcoming games manage to live up to their promise, then this year will become even more special. From much-awaited sequels to promising remakes, there’s no shortage of quality titles to look forward to in October 2025.
Ghost Of Yotei
The Sequel To Ghost Of Tsushima Promises To Be A Barnburner
Ghost of Tsushima‘s art style accentuated its gameplay elements, with stealth, combat, and exploration feeling great due to the game’s stylish appearance and feel. This is why Atsu’s adventures in the upcoming Ghost of Yotei are hyped to the moon and back.
Hunting down the Yotei Six and exploring yet another gorgeous world is something that fans can’t wait to get their hands on. If the gameplay evolves to reach new heights, Ghost of Yotei will be a treat for fans to experience.
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2
Fans Can’t Wait To Get Their Hands On Two Of The Greatest Mario Games Ever
Despite Super Mario Odyssey‘s brilliance, many people still consider it to be inferior to Super Mario Galaxy 2. This is something that fans unfamiliar with the 3D Mario games can’t wait to check out for themselves when Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 releases on Switch 2 this October.
These games are jam-packed with imaginative levels and unique gameplay elements, as one would expect from a mainline Mario title. If both games have aged as gracefully as fans say, then Switch 2 players will be in for something special when these games escape exclusivity hell to make Nintendo’s newest console more appealing than ever.
Little Nightmares 3
Another Promising Entry In This Atmospheric Side-Scrolling Horror Platformer Series
Little Nightmares 3 is another entry in one of the most chilling side-scrolling platformer franchises, one that carries forward the legacy left behind by titles like Limbo and Inside. The first two games were excellent in their own right and full of plot twists that no one saw coming.
Fans expect more of the same with Little Nightmares 3. The disturbing visuals, pulse-pounding chase scenes, and a memorable story are pretty much guaranteed in this sequel, and although the development of this third entry has changed hands, fans are still excited to experience more stories in this surreal horror franchise.
Battlefield 6
The Beta Made It Clear That This Multiplayer Game Holds A Ton Of Promise
Battlefield 6‘s open beta was a gaming phenomenon. The sheer amount of clips showing the game’s chaos that went viral means that EA’s lofty aspirations for this title may still be met.
The quality multiplayer matches full of a ridiculous number of players will be a blast to get into, and fans can’t wait to see what the final product has in store for them. The open beta received a ton of feedback despite the overall product being quite promising, and all Battlefield 6 needs to do is iron out the bugs and add the content fans expect from a full release to become a legendary entry.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
Despite Some Reservations, It’s Impossible Not To Get Hyped For This Long-Awaited Sequel
Are fans a bit worried about what Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will deliver in comparison to the first game? Yes. Has that done anything to quell the flames of hype surrounding this release? Absolutely not.
Even now, fans can’t believe that Bloodlines 2 is gracing them with an actual launch date this October after years of being in development hell. A few stumbles are expected, but fans won’t mind as long as the soul of the first game is channeled to make for a delectable role-playing experience.
The Outer Worlds 2
Obsidian Can Address Complaints With The First Game To Make For A Memorable Sci-Fi Adventure
The Outer Worlds had its issues; there’s no denying that. However, the depth of the role-playing mechanics, coupled with the humorous writing, made up for the surface-level exploration of capitalism and some puzzling elements in the worldbuilding.
As long as the sequel builds upon these strengths and addresses fan complaints, The Outer Worlds 2 will be something special. The pricing debacle has been put to rest, and fans just want to get their hands on the final product and see whether Obsidian Entertainment is going to continue their hot streak with this title.
Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake
These Classic Games Deserve All The Love They Can Get
Dragon Quest is a legendary JRPG series, and it wasn’t until the eleventh mainline entry saw a major surge of popularity in the West that Square Enix decided to focus on international releases for these video games. The Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake was a joy to play in its own right, and both new and old fans will once again be treated to something special in October.
The classic JRPG adventures present in Dragon Quest 1 & 2 will also be getting HD-2D remakes, allowing fans to experience a piece of gaming history without any of the dated elements. If fans sign up for a retro gaming experience this Fall, then Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake should make for an entertaining time.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Pokemon Fans Are Understandably Hyped For This Upcoming Entry
Game Freak may have struggled a lot with 3D games, so the fact that Pokemon fans are still rabid about this franchise speaks volumes. Pokemon Legends is a great spin-off series with a focus on real-time Pokemon battles and open-world exploration.
This will be continued in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which is bound to sell a ton of copies for the Switch 2, given how popular this console’s release was. Hopefully, this game will improve upon the visuals and presentation of its predecessor, which are in dire need of an overhaul, but the lack of these advancements won’t stop Pokemon Legends: Z-A from selling like hotcakes.
