Titan Quest 2 has a lot of puzzles for players, with a lot of them tied to side quests or just quest items. While these puzzles are a sharp change of pace from the game’s combat, these puzzles often lead to very worthwhile rewards.
While exploring Fiend’s Hollow during the Cages in the Dark quest, players will come across the Mysterious Door. While this door isn’t tied to that quest, it is another puzzle that is tied to fire basins throughout the cave; here’s how to open it, along with what’s inside.
How to Open the Mysterious Door in Titan Quest 2
Opening the Mysterious Door is tied to the basins that can be interacted with and lit on fire. You’ll need to light the basins in a specific order, with the first ones being toward the northernmost section of the cave. Right before the final corner of the cave will be one basin on a pedestal, interact with it to light it on fire, and it will stay lit. The main solution to this puzzle is to light the basin sets in order of how many basins are in the set.
Lighting the wrong basin will cause the flame to go out after a second.
After the first basin, head to the bottom right corner of the cave and go into the cell where you freed some prisoners during the Cage in the Dark quest. Inside will be two basins, which can be lit in any order between the two of them. With those three basins lit, head back to the Mysterious Door, where you’ll see three basins in front of it. Interact with them in any order to light them all, and after that, the door will open.
What’s Behind the Mysterious Door in Titan Quest 2
In the room will be a miner named Mopsus who will be upset that you unsealed his door, protecting him from all the craziness happening in the outside world. Other than a few lines of dialogue, there’s nothing else to do with Mopsus other than listen to him be upset with you. In terms of rewards for solving the puzzle, there are two chests in this room that have good drop rates.
The chest in the bottom right will drop multiple not only dropping good stuff, like the Desolate Shore puzzle, but also dropping multiple items, making the door a very worthwhile puzzle to solve.
