Naughty Dog Job Listing May Hint at New Intergalactic Trailer Soon

Naughty Dog may reveal a new trailer for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet soon, if a freshly posted job listing for a Gameplay Capture Artist is a sign. Fans of the award-winning studio have been raring for a new look at Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which was first announced eight months ago.

Being Naughty Dog’s first new IP in over a decade, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet‘s reveal at The Game Awards, in December 2024, came as a much-needed breath of fresh air and was immediately surrounded by significant hype. Unlike the developer’s previous titles, such as the post-apocalyptic The Last of Us or the Indiana Jones-esque Uncharted series, its new project is a sci-fi action-adventure game set on an alien planet. Back in May, the Neil Druckmann-directed title confirmed Tony Dalton as a part of its prominent cast, which also features Tati Gabrielle in the central role of Jordan A. Mun. Now, another development suggests that a fresh peek at Intergalactic could be on the way sooner rather than later.

Naughty Dog Job Post May Mean a New Trailer for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is Close

A new job listing by Naughty Dog revealed that it is currently looking for a Gameplay Capture Artist, who can create “video and still-image assets for use in public-facing campaigns.” The job description mentions that the temporary role entails recording both cinematics and gameplay to portray a game’s story and core elements. Although the job doesn’t mention a specific game, it does state that the studio is “currently busy” with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet‘s development. Interestingly, the company also used an image from the upcoming game to promote the post on Twitter, leading to several fans speculating about a new trailer with more gameplay.

At present, Naughty Dog has two confirmed projects in the pipeline, with one being Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and the other being an unannounced IP. So, there definitely is a chance that the aforementioned role could be attached to the latter game. However, the noticeable emphasis on Intergalactic, especially in the company’s social media post for the job, does strongly hint that the fans’ assumption may actually be true. Either way, given the timing of the incident, it seems reasonable to expect the trailer in question to be shown at The Game Awards – scheduled for December 11 – or at a PlayStation Showcase in the near future.

Before any of that happens, gamers have another major day to look forward to, with Gamescom taking place on August 20–24. While PlayStation might not be attending it yet again, the console giant’s rival, Xbox, is expected to reveal more details about its upcoming Asus-partnered handheld PCs during the event.
