Description

Harem anime is an acquired taste, even more so than genres like isekai and sports. Often looked down upon for catering to basic wish fulfillment, these shows are rarely regarded as high art; however, they are popular and can be very entertaining, serving as lighthearted escapes from reality. New harem anime are always coming out, and 2025’s lineup has been quite good.

Throughout the year’s four seasons, the industry will produce plenty of new series and sequels to well-established shows. While perhaps not attracting the same attention as some other stories, these 2025 harem anime could prove to be highlights in their own right. Let us go through all the ones announced so far, including series that have aired and ones that have yet to debut.

As stealth harem anime is a thing, series will be added if they incorporate enough elements from the genre.

Updated on August 21, 2025 by Mark Sammut: Do you like harems? If the answer is yes, then Summer 2025 has you covered well. I’ve updated the section related to the current season, rewriting/expanding each anime’s write-up in the process. Not every show is worth watching, but most of them are at least decent.

Winter 2025

I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class

I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class should not qualify for a harem. After all, the premise involves Saito, the male lead, marrying his classmate, Akane. They are the core relationship and the obvious endgame, and any other love interests would be largely pointless. Yet, I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class is oddly structured similar to a comedy harem, in the mold of something like Rent-a-Girlfriend.

Saito and Akane’s strained relationship takes center stage, but the former is also courted by Himari, the protagonists’ classmate. She is not aware of their situation, and she pursues Saito quite aggressively. Furthermore, Shisei constantly makes aggressive attempts to get with her cousin, Saito. These moments are played for laughs, both by the show and the characters, but they create a scenario where the MC is effectively being pursued by three girls.

Beheneko: The Elf-Girl’s Cat is Secretly an S-Ranked Monster!

  • Japanese Title: S-Rank Monster no “Behemoth” dakedo, Neko to Machigawarete Elf Musume no Pet toshite Kurashitemasu
  • Studios: Zero-G, Saber Works
  • Based On: Light Novel by Nozomi Ginyoku
  • Streaming Service: HIDIVE

Comfortably the most risqué harem anime of Winter 2025, Beheneko revolves around a cat protagonist and the various fantasy-themed girls who love him. Yeah, that description will likely be enough to determine whether someone will want to check out Beheneko or not. It should be said that the series spends quite a bit of time showing the characters on quests and adventuring.

Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time

Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time has a fairly stereotypical set-up for a harem, with the male protagonist surrounding himself with female characters who quickly start to worship the ground he walks on. They are also “employed” by him, as he bought their contracts. The isekai MC, Takumi, does not hide the fact that he is attracted to two of the girls, Sofia and Maria; conversely, the girls are completely dedicated to him, with Maria saying she will spend the rest of her life with Takumi.

Yet, the show has zero romantic tension. Part of that is due to Takumi, who just refuses to be direct and, instead, just makes comments from a distance. This creates a bizarre dynamic that resembles a harem but lacks any of the genre’s fun parts.

The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World

Not every isekai anime is a harem, but the themes overlap enough that they are still synonymous with each other. The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World follows Kenichi, a guy who finds himself in another world with the ability to shop online.

That power is reminiscent of Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, which was legitimately one of the best isekai anime of 2023. However, this Winter 2025 series is a full-blown harem, with Kenichi utilizing his unique ability to set up a comfortable life for himself. Somewhat refreshingly, the protagonist does not waste any time building up a harem, despite not specifically trying to go in that direction. Women just seem to be naturally attracted to him, and their relationships are quite casual.

Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You

Harem anime are rare next to genres like isekai, but they are frankly abundant when compared to their reverse variants. Nowadays, most years seem to produce two or three shows that shake things up by dropping a female protagonist in the middle of a gaggle of guys, and this shortage is not surprising considering shojo adaptations are hard to come by. Still, they do exist, and Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You is a fairly conventional example of a reverse harem.

Not sure how to react to a confession from a childhood friend, Mizuho struggles to accept that the relationships that have been a staple of her life might be set to change. Compared to most harems that tend to revolve around strangers, Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You focuses on characters who already have bonds, exploring how the introduction of a crush changes their relationships.

While not initially seeming like a harem, this Winter 2025 isekai anime goes in that direction, even if its exploration of the theme is primarily comedic. Kenzaburou, a middle-aged father, meets truck-kun and is reincarnated as Grace, the villainess of an otome game. Attending school alongside the heroine, Anna, the protagonist’s parental instincts tend to take over in most situations, resulting in Grace playing matchmaker. More often than not, the MC inadvertently triggers romance milestones with the Student Council members, who are presented as the main love interests; however, he is also an active participant at times, specifically when it comes to aiding Anna.

Besides its comedic tone and fantasy setting, From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated! sets itself apart from other shows by, technically, featuring two characters who are building harems. Kenzaburou’s actions are causing characters to fall for both Grace and Anna; in fact, the latter is also developing a thing for the former.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 2

Arguably the most highly anticipated harem anime of 2025, 100 Girlfriends hit the ground running with a hilarious opening season that managed to parry the genre while still delivering a surprisingly effective romance. Due to a god-level mistake, Rentarou has 100 soulmates, and he has to make them all happy or their lives will go to ruin. So, he does just that, proving himself to be the ultimate harem protagonist.

100 Girlfriends is primarily known for its comedy, but it works well as a harem. The characters are likable, with the girls showing enough personality to not just be basic archetypes. Season 2 instantly eclipsed its predecessor’s silliness by having the girls switch bodies within the first few minutes, a short-lived plot development that provided laughs and kisses in equal measure. New girls are gradually introduced, with usually a candidate appearing every two episodes or so. Despite its ever-expanding roster of waifus, 100 Girlfriends does a surprisingly great job of fleshing out most of them, rather than just reducing them to one gag. While still too early to say, 100 Girlfriends season 2 will likely be among the best harem anime of 2025.

Spring 2025

The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows

The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows trailer

Over the last two years or so, a strange fantasy subgenre has taken hold: Kicked out of a party. In all these shows, the protagonist is abused and mocked by his party, eventually resulting in him being kicked out and left to rot. However, in reality, the MC is not only super strong but also the main reason the party had any success. Naturally, the protagonist winds up proving everyone wrong, all the while attracting a plethora of girls who see him as his true self.

The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows is a fairly typical example of this concept, albeit with a more pronounced harem than most of its contemporaries. Zenos is an extremely talented healer who starts an underground clinic, and he pretty quickly attracts a group of female clients. Now, to his credit, Zenos is a fairly proactive and direct protagonist for this type of story, so he is not a bad harem lead.

I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!

I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire teaser liam

Another isekai harem, I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! also throws mecha into the mix, which has made for a messy but fun series. A hard-done-by protagonist dies after living just the most miserable life imaginable, and he is granted an opportunity to cut loose in a new world.

The “Guide” who offers this second chance is also the one who ruined the MC’s previous life, and they seem interested in pushing a “good” person to be evil. Living as Liam, the protagonist is specifically born into a position of power, granting him the perfect opportunity to be the worst.

I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! is not for everyone, as it does kind of require an appreciation for three polarizing genres. Focusing only on the harem element, the anime’s main girls have cute designs and have defined roles within Liam’s empire. That said, Amagi has gotten way more attention than any of the other girls, and she is the only one that comes across as a main character.

The Gorilla God’s Go-To Girl

Lady Blessed by the Gorilla God anime trailer

Set in a fantasy world where people are awarded blessings by the gods, Sophia’s peaceful future is snatched away from her when she earns super-strength, courtesy of a gorilla deity. Due to this rare and powerful ability, Sophia is, naturally, scouted by the Royal Knights, forcing her into a life of hard training and combat.

Sophia quickly finds herself surrounded by guys, although that does not mean they will all go down the romance route. The Gorilla God’s Go-To Girl just about qualifies as a reverse harem since, well, the female protagonist is surrounded primarily by guys, most of whom could easily transition into love interests. That said, the anime presents Louis as Sophia’s main romantic partner.

The Unaware Atelier Meister

The Unaware Atelier Meister ending song

The Unaware Atelier Meister is a weird one. On paper, this fantasy anime has all the ingredients to be a conventional harem. The male lead, Kurt, is considered to be super adorable and seems to naturally attract girls to him, most of whom seem to be both enamored and puzzled by his wholesomeness. While not the only noteworthy guy in the cast, the MC spends most of his time with female characters, developing fun friendships with most of them.

However, Kurt does not have a single romantic bone in him. He is about as “innocent” as they come. His naivety is treated as a concern by the rest of the main characters and, I admit, can become annoying at times. The Unaware Atelier Meister is a platonic harem, if that makes sense.

Summer Pockets

Summer Pockets hairi and ao

It has been too long since a visual novel by Key received a fantastic anime, but Summer Pockets has the potential to set things right. The 2018 game has routes for multiple girls (four in the base version, eight in the Reflection Blue expansion), making it a fairly conventional harem by visual novel standards. Due to being in its early days, the adaptation’s direction is not 100% obvious at this point, but it will likely cover all four routes to an extent, even if it might not emphasize romance as much as some other 2025 harem anime.

Looking to leave behind city life and rediscover himself, Hairi heads to a small island called Torishirojima for a summer holiday. Once there, he quickly starts running into the local teenagers, who are primarily (but not exclusively) female. He takes a particular interest in the mysterious Shiroha, although she is not the only girl who walks into his life. Summer Pockets is very much a typical visual novel adaptation that tries to cover as many routes as possible, which tends to result in a fairly slow story that cycles through different girls.

The Shiunji Family Children

The Shiunji Family Children trailer

From the same mangaka behind Rent-a-Girlfriend, The Shiunji Family Children is considerably less popular than its bigger sibling. Still, this 2025 harem anime is a more traditional entry in the genre, potentially making for an easier but less interesting watch. Also, the harem revolves around a step-brother and his step-sisters. So, take that as you will.

The Shiunji Family Children is a fairly well-done but mostly unspectacular harem story that plays things surprisingly safely considering its premise. Doga Kobo has brought its typical polished presentation, delivering quality animation that will likely rank among the harem genre’s best efforts of the year. The story is OK for what it is.

Summer 2025

Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 4

rent a girlfriend 4

Arguably the most polarizing harem anime of all time, Rent-a-Girlfriend has a fairly negative reputation, all the while being among the most recognizable and well-known representatives of the genre. Rent-a-Girlfriend is pretty unusual for a harem since the “final” girl has been obvious from the very start, with Kazuya very clearly preferring Chizuru above everyone else.

Season 3 was the anime’s best entry yet, largely thanks to a fun movie-based storyline that allowed the characters to shine. Season 4 has, honestly, been a pretty substantial step back from its predecessor, with mostly frustrating writing that has not built up much momentum. Still, if you have enjoyed the anime up to this point, there is really no reason to stop.

Watari-kun’s ****** Is About to Collapse

Watari-kun no xx ga Houkai Sunzen satsuki

I have to admit, Watari-kun’s ****** Is About to Collapse is a pretty great and eye-catching title. Like, what does it mean? Well, that is a mystery. Naoto is obsessed with protecting his sister, but his life becomes complicated when a strange girl shows up who claims to hold secrets relating to the male protagonist. What does she know? What does she mean?

Well, just to keep expectations in check, Watari-kun’s ****** Is About to Collapse is a pretty typical romcom. Frankly, that title is the most interesting thing about the show, but it also paints a picture of a series that is way more unique and daring than the one that exists. OK, that previous sentence sounds very negative, but I don’t think Watari-kun’s ****** Is About to Collapse is bad. Like, it is fine. The characters are mostly forgettable, but they can be charming at times.

Watari-kun‘s harem aspect is not that pronounced, at least not compared to some other shows. In fact, it barely qualifies as part of the genre, but I feel like it shows just enough to warrant a mention.

The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses

shy hero and the assassin princesses trailer all characters

OK, this one is a strange case, and I’m not quite sure if I would describe it as a harem. Yet, The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses has all the ingredients to be one or become one. While strong, Toto is so super-duper shy that he can barely speak to anyone, let alone women. His dream of joining a party seems to come true when three women – Anemone, Goa, and Ciel – approach him, and they even nominate him as their leader!

The catch? They all want to kill him, albeit for different reasons.

The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses cannot be recommended as a harem. I mean, I like this anime, but it has nothing to do with the twisted harem. Toto, the male MC, barely feels like a character. He is just there to be the magnet that holds the girls together. As he goes unconscious when he feels embarrassed, Toto spends most episodes knocked out, allowing the assassins to drop the charade and become their true selves. Their banter is by far the best part of the story, and it is far more entertaining than their slow-building interest in Toto.

Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter

Private Tutor to the Duke's Daughter trailer

Fantasy setting aside, Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter has a conventional set-up for a harem. Allen, a capable but underachieving sorcerer, is hired to tutor the duke’s daughter, Tina, in magic. They do not quite get along at first, but things develop naturally after that point. While Tina is introduced as the main girl, Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter should expand into a harem quite quickly, with Allen helping a series of girls who, in return, show romantic interest in him.

Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter is a fairly safe and traditional fantasy harem, which can be fun when a viewer is in the mood for fluff. Allen is probably the best character in the show, with Lydia coming in as a close second. However, the anime is just kind of average. Nothing all that exciting has happened so far, and it almost leans into slow-life territory.

A Couple of Cuckoos 2nd Season

A Couple of Cuckoos E24 Memories

A polarizing anime (and manga), A Couple of Cuckoos will test a viewer’s patience at times. When viewed as a silly comedy about mostly awful people, it is pretty entertaining, with the girls driving the male lead up the wall in frequently amusing ways.

A Couple of Cuckoos is not amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but it is not bad either. The harem aspect is mostly just OK, as the story has not really done much to separate itself from the crowd in that area. However, the anime is genuinely quite funny, as Nagi is pretty much consistently perplexed by the girls’ behavior. A Couple of Cuckoos is a better comedy than it is a harem, although it is still worth watching just for the latter.

There’s No Freaking Way I’ll be Your Lover! Unless…

There's No Freaking Way I'll be Your Lover! Unless... episode 1 mai saving renako

Now, here is a treat! Girls love anime are extremely rare, to the point that each year might produce one show that genuinely involves romance rather than just subtext. So, girls love harem anime are basically non-existent; or, at least, that was the case before Summer 2025. Yeah, There’s No Freaking Way I’ll be Your Lover! Unless… is the holy grail of the GL genre.

Now, admittedly, the anime does not initially seem to be going down the harem route, as it mostly focuses on Mai and Renako’s relationship. These two girls are trying to decide if they should be best friends or lovers, with Renako pushing for the former. However, the foundations for a harem are set within the first few episodes, and girls like Ajisai and Satsuki gradually become more important. There’s No Freaking Way I’ll be Your Lover! Unless… is hilarious too, with Renako working well as a straight (wo)man to counter the other girls’ silliness.

Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze

The Three Mikadono Sisters Are Surprisingly Easy trailer

If push comes to shove, I’d say Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze is the best new harem anime of Summer 2025. On the surface, the premise does not sound particularly exciting or original. After his famous mother’s death, the talentless Yuu ends up living with three prodigies, all of whom look down upon him. However, he wants to create the perfect family environment, so he stands his ground and gets to work on fostering bonds with the girls. He also wants to improve the relationships between the sisters, as they are quite isolated from each other.

So, a typical convoluted scenario where an “ordinary” guy gets to live with three extraordinary girls, who all steadily fall in love with him because they, somehow, never seem to speak to any other boys. The thing is, Yuu is kind of a fantastic harem protagonist. Putting aside his fairly oblivious nature, he is pretty much the perfect lead for this type of story. Yuu is assertive, strong-willed, kind without being a doormat, and has a well-defined personality. He believes himself to be talentless and ordinary, but he is pretty far from the standard harem MC.

The sisters are fine, for the most part. They have good designs, and they have goals beyond each other and Yuu. Their sibling relationships are spotlighted well, and they have different enough personalities that they all feel like individuals. That said, they mostly go through the same arc.

Fall 2025

Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle

Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka

More of a slice of life option, Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle should be worth checking out for those craving protagonists who are more confident and self-assured than the traditional harem lead. While not flawless, Saku is a pretty popular guy who mostly knows what he wants and is good at interacting with girls; however, he is not always great at managing romantic feelings. Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle should be more about friendship than romance, at least initially. Along with Saku, the anime should feature five main girls, all of whom should receive attention.

Don’t Touch Kotesashi

Don't Touch Kotesashi anime-1

One of the more surprising harems to receive an adaptation, Don’t Touch Kotesashi will likely lean completely into fanservice territory, at least if it sticks true to the source material. The eponymous Kotesashi is a talented massage therapist who has fallen on hard times, so he accepts a position at a dormitory. Besides other responsibilities, one of his main roles is to massage sports athletes, who are naturally girls.

Ranma ½ Season 2

Akane chats with Ranma while the two walk home from school in Ranma 1/2.

Guaranteed to be one of the funniest 2025 harem anime, Ranma ½ will be returning for its sequel season, which should come backed with hilarity, unexpectedly great action, and romcom silliness. Now, I know an argument could be made that Ranma ½ is not a harem since Ranma and Akane are the dual protagonists and are destined for each other, but they also have multiple suitors who do not hesitate to make their feelings known. Basically, they are both stuck in unwanted harems, and they have to get into constant fights to keep their potential partners at bay.

Other Anime That Could Have Harem Elements

100% full-blown harems are fairly rare, at least compared to other genres and themes like action, traditional romance, and isekai. However, die-hard fans craving more content can always check out a few other shows that either sprinkle in harem content or feature dynamics that would not be out of place for that genre. The following anime are not quite harems, but they might be enjoyed by viewers who want harems.
