The information was corroborated by VGC, whose sources confirmed that a Nintendo Direct is “planned for mid-September.” However, VCG’s sources did not confirm September 12 as the actual event date.

It’s still unknown what will be shown at the event, but it’s expected that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond could be featured. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has received multiple age ratings recently, with the latest one being in the United States. Before that, the title was also rated in South Korea. If the event takes place on September 12 as teased, it’s possible that gamers will see a Super Mario Bros.-related announcement, as September 13 marks the 40th anniversary of the first game in the franchise in Japan.
