This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.

One Piece sees the protagonists of the series, the Straw Hat Pirates, engage in extremely intense battles in every arc, so there’s always a chance that some characters will get tremendous power-ups sooner or later. When it comes to the most exciting ones, the Swordsman of the crew, Roronoa Zoro, is one character that fans always enjoy seeing grow stronger. Zoro is incredibly powerful, and his goal is to surpass the World’s Strongest Swordsman, Dracule Mihawk.

So far, he’s achieved incredible things in his career as a master swordsman, but there’s more to come. Zoro will go on to unlock great abilities in One Piece as the final saga progresses but more than that, he will also get better tools to channel the said abilities. Often, Zoro gets near swords in One Piece, and fans know very well that his getting a new blade in the future is very likely. In fact, it would be surprising if Zoro doesn’t get a sword upgrade. Thankfully, Oda has already lined up Zoro’s next sword upgrade in the Final Saga of One Piece.

Roronoa Zoro Will Replace The Sandai Kitetsu

Zoro Could Gain The Nidai Kitetsu Instead

  • The Final War Will See Zoro Reunite With Sukiyaki

Usually, Zoro goes on to replace the weakest of the three swords that he carries with them. After Zoro broke his weak katanas in the fight against Mihawk, he picked up Yubashiri and Sandai Kitetsu in Loguetown. Unfortunately, Yubashiri ended up falling in the battle against Shu, and Zoro replaced this blade with Shusui, which he got from Ryuma’s corpse.

Later on, Zoro delivered Shusui to Wano, and in return, he got Oden’s beloved blade, Enma. Zoro is yet to master Enma fully, and this blade has to grow stronger. It goes without saying that Zoro won’t replace Enma.

Replacing Zoro’s main sword, Wado Ichimonji, is out of the question. Zoro loves no blade more than Wado, and it is also the last piece of Kuina that he carries with him. Zoro will never replace Wado Ichimonji due to its importance.

There is only one sword that Zoro can and will go on to replace in the future, and that’s the Sandai Kitetsu. While strong, this sword is nowhere near Enma and Wado Ichimonji in rank. Zoro needs this third Great Grade Sword, and that’s why Sandai Kitetsu needs to be replaced with the Nidai Kitetsu.

Nidai Kitetsu Will Be A Huge Sword Upgrade For Zoro

Zoro’s Power Level Is About To Increase Even More

Currently, the Nidai Kitetsu is in Wano, and it’s being preserved by Tenguyama Hitetsu, or Kozuki Sukiyaki. But, this blade is utterly wasted at the moment. Eventually, Zoro will have to get his hands on it and he will. Zoro left Wano without taking the Nidai Kitetsu, but that doesn’t mean he can’t gain this blade. He will eventually run into Sukiyaki again when they unite during the Great War. It is during this war that Zoro will gain access to one of the most powerful swords, the Nidai Kitetsu.

This sword would be a direct upgrade for Zoro, given that it is one of the Great Grade Swords. It would channel Zoro’s Haki better, and cut deeper and sharper than any other blade that he has. Undoubtedly, it will make him stronger, and this power-up is guaranteed for Zoro.
