Description

Diablo 4 is reinventing its ongoing seasonal power trend with the addition of Chaos Perks in Season 10. While past seasonal powers have offered players the ability to augment their skills, Season 10 is putting a new spin on this augmentation with Chaos Perks, offering players very strong powers at the cost of some kind of drawback. However, one Chaos Perk coming to Diablo 4 in Season 10 seems to be all roses, bringing a net positive to the player’s build with little downside.

Like the Horadric Spells of Diablo 4 Season 9, Chaos Perks have the potential to be the difference maker between a good and a great build. To do this, players will have to dance around the risks that come with using certain Chaos Perks and either compensate for them or turn them into boons for their build. For players unsure of which Unique Chaos Perk to invest in, the Chaos Unleashed perk is in line to be a universally beneficial perk for just about any Diablo 4 Season 10 build.

Diablo 4 Season 10’s Chaos Unleashed Unique Perk Can Fit into Any Build

In Diablo 4 Season 10, players will be able to obtain new Chaos Perks by engaging in the new Chaos Rifts mechanic. Players can encounter Chaos Rifts in several locations, including Helltides and Nightmare Dungeons. Like Season 9’s Horadric Strongrooms, players will have to defeat the demons that pour out of Chaos Rifts in order to find new Chaos Perks, as well as other new Season 10 features like Chaos Armor.

Chaos Perks Offer Diablo 4 Players the Lion’s Share of Seasonal Powers

When choosing which Chaos Perks to use on a build in Diablo 4 Season 10, players are spoiled for choice. Like Diablo 4‘s Uniques and Mythics, Chaos Perks have a general pool that all classes can take advantage of, as well as a pool of perks exclusive to each class. The general pool of Chaos Perks contains 3 Magic, 3 Rare, 3 Legendary, and 3 Unique perks, while each class adds one exclusive perk to each rarity level. While players may find that some of the class-specific Chaos Perks are better suited for their particular build, all signs point toward Chaos Unleashed being the Chaos Perk to beat for most classes.

Why Chaos Unleashed Could Be Diablo 4’s Most Overpowered Perk in Season 10

As a Unique Chaos Perk, Chaos Unleashed may end up being one of the more difficult perks to find in Diablo 4 Season 10. However, its build synergy and boss damage potential far outweigh the setbacks players might face when trying to obtain it.

  • Chaos Unleashed (Unique Chaos Perk)

    • Killing an enemy generates 2 stacks of Chaos and dealing direct damage to a boss generates 5 stacks of Chaos. At 100 stacks, unleash a salvo of 9 Chaotic Bursts, dealing 300-500% of your highest damage type.
    • Your Chaotic Bursts gain 20%[+] Critical Strike Chance, and deal 50-100%[x] increased damage.

At face value, this Chaos Perk may not seem that impressive, as it requires players to accumulate 100 stacks of Chaos before dealing any sort of damage. Luckily, this is the only real downside that comes with Chaos Unleashed, whereas other Chaos Perks can limit a player’s max health or reduce their Resistances in exchange for a buff.

What makes this Chaos Perk so good is that it has the potential to melt bosses with some careful planning. Since damaging a boss generates 5 stacks of Chaos, players will be able to unleash Chaotic Bursts every 20 hits on a boss with an increased Crit chance and 50-100% increased damage. Some builds will likely benefit more from this perk than others, such as Quill Volley Spiritborn or Barrage Rogue, who can damage a boss with multiple hits in one attack. However, since nearly all builds will deal some type of direct damage, most players can utilize Chaos Unleashed when tackling endgame activities like Lair Bosses and Infernal Hordes.
