Description

A lot of the hype behind Diablo 4 Season 10 comes from the potential the new Chaos Armor mechanic has to flip buildcrafting on its head. Several powerful Diablo 4 builds could be even more fearsome in Season 10 thanks to Chaos Armor, and some previously underwhelming builds may be able to find new life. The Druid may be a popular class in the upcoming season because of how Chaos Armor seems to be taking several of its mediocre builds and making them meta contenders.

With Diablo 4 Season 10’s introduction of Chaos Armor, the door has been opened for never-before-seen build options. Now that Chaos Armor allows certain Unique affixes to appear on gear other than their original versions, players can mix and match new Uniques that were previously mutually exclusive. As a result, one Druid build that was mid-tier in Season 9 may suddenly be one of the class’s strongest options, but only if players can afford the heavy time and resource investment it requires.

Chaos Armor Could Make Werenado Druids an S-Tier Build

The Werenado Druid build gets its name from the way it utilizes Tornado, along with shape-shifting skills like Shred and Maul, to give Druids a one-two punch of AoE and single-target damage. To this end, Werenado Druid builds tend to use skills like:

  • Grizzly Rage
  • Shred
  • Blood Howl
  • Maul
  • Tornado
  • Cyclone Armor

Grizzly Rage and Blood Howl are both shape-shifting skills that grant 60% increased damage and 20% healing, respectively. Add Cyclone Armor onto this for increased Non-Physical Damage Reduction, and the Werenado Druid can be quite tanky. Shred and Maul offer great melee skills that also heal and Fortify, respectively, and Tornado can create a massive damage area for dealing with large groups of foes.

Where the Werenado Druid build really shines is in the Uniques it gets to take advantage of. Tibault’s Will is a staple of this build because of the 10-20%[x] increase to damage while Unstoppable, which players will be when using Grizzly Rage. More importantly is Tempest Roar, which makes all Werewolf skills also Storm skills that can benefit from the Perfect Storm Key Passive. However, Tempest Roar is now in the pool for Chaos Armor in Diablo 4 Season 10, meaning the Werenado Druid could potentially have a different item in the helm gear slot.

Diablo 4’s Werenado Druid Needs Rare Mythics to Function at Its Best

With Tempest Roar potentially moving to a different gear slot, this Werenado Druid build can take advantage of one of the best Mythics in the game. The Heir of Perdition is useful on just about any Diablo 4 build that doesn’t need a Unique Helm as a cornerstone. Now that Tempest Roar is no longer locked to the helm slot, the Heir of Perdition can replace it and give the players a blanket 60% damage increase across the board, as well as a 200% damage increase to demon enemies.

Having room to add the Heir of Perdition on the Werenado Druid build is a huge boon for the class, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the build will be more accessible in Season 10. Aside from the Heir of Perdition, this build also utilizes the Shroud of False Death and Ring of Starless Skies—two more of Diablo 4‘s extremely rare Mythic items. Although having three Mythics on a build can make it incredibly powerful, acquiring even one Mythic takes a lot of time and patience, so achieving a build using all three may put the optimal Werenado Druid build out of reach for the majority of Diablo 4 Season 10 players.
